Thoughts & Experiances with Waxed Flesh for boot leather?

I'm considering a pair of Whites or Nicks using waxed flesh as a leather option just to try it in the near future. I'd value some input from folks here with feet-in experiences with this type of leather. Is it similar to "roughout" or completely different? How is it to clean, oil and condition? Break-in? How about scuff resistance (this is a clear benefit with roughout leather)? Are they as comfortable, less comfortable, or more comfortable than traditional leathers used on these boots?

Of course, photos of well broken-in or used boots and your thoughts on them are totally welcome. I have seen people wearing these, just not heard much on the actual experience of them. Thanks in advance.

I have a pair of white's mp boots in waxed flesh.
It is roughout leather with the nap/suede side waxed down smooth and hard. Suitable for rough weather. I only wear mine in snow or rain. In terms of it's looks, it's casual like suede and more casual than smooth leather. You can see by the way nicks and scratches will show themselves on the surface, they stay there unless the rest of the waxed flesh is roughed out with it or smoothed back down with a cleaning and re-waxing(which is intensive from the online guides I've read).
I've never cleaned mine, it's never gotten to the point where I needed to. Then again I don't walk through mud. I've seen intensive restoration guides online for how to care for waxed flesh where they use saddle soap to clean and then a ton of venetian shoe cream to get the waxiness back. I've not had to do that with mine, and my boots are several years old now.

In terms of comfort they're about the same as any boot I've worn.

If I'd ever go for some 8" loggers then I would definitely go for waxed flesh. I'd love to try it. On paper it seems like the ultimate non-dressy/fancy leather and it looks fantastic when beat up a bit. In a way, if I had to choose one pair of leather boots then I'd probably go for WF even without ever having tried it. I was considering grabing a pair from Willie's but curently waiting for a Horserump jodhpur pair from him.

This White's 8" leather-soled pair is also forever burned into my retinas in the most positive way, GORGEOUS:

I need some 8" WF boots.. Lugged or not. I'll definitely turn to Willie again if my currently awaited pair works out.

I bought a pair, on the more inexpensive side of things, the Thursday Black Label Challenger. They have been fantastic boots for hiking, doing yard work, and taking a beating - and they still look pretty much new. I've worn them at least 200 days over the last year and a half of owning them.

I love waxed flesh leathers. I have 2 pairs of whites - one in the cinnamon and one in dark brown. And I have 1 pair of Nicks Americanas in black waxed flesh leather. All are less than a year old so I don’t have any good patina pics to share yet since not much flesh is showing. But I love the look of the leather and it has been easy break in for me. Water drips bead up and roll off because of the layer of wax.

Whites is actually having a closeout sale right now on some of their boots.
