Thinking about getting the SCHOTT P613S or 613SH, any advice?

P613S is HORWEEN CXL, 613SH is regular horsehide. Any one has experience with HORWEEN CXL? How about comparison of CXL to horsehide after years?

Horween CXL FQHH is highly regarded by most of us here, with some exceptions. It's got a stiff hand when new, but breaks in beautifully. The topcoat is somewhat prone to wear and scratching compared to other leathers. But don't sweat it. Just wear it. It's great stuff.

I own a P613S in burgundy. My advise is to order direct from Schott and try it on. This is not your average leather jacket.

My jacket is stiff, weighs almost eight pounds. I really enjoy how unique of a jacket it is, from my perspective. I would consider getting the black version as well in the future.

Mind share some recent picture of your jacket?

Tough call. i'd say it depends. If you're a size 40 and wear a 42 in the 613, you should sell your 613SH and get this one in CLX. If you're a different size... I'd probably keep the 613SH. Like the standard perfecto pocket setup better than the CHPish 2 pocket setup on the P613.

Unfortunatly Schott only sells the P613S in S, M, L etc. I have posted their size chart for this jacket in my picture link that is posted in my review of the jacket. Waiting for some cooler weather so I can start wearing it again.

I would not say it is broken in yet, purchased it in May and worn infrequently since. But I would add that it moves when you make it move, of course, and the sleeves started creasing after the first day of wear. So although break in will be a long time coming I do not see a wearability issue from my perspective. I accept the leather for what it is. YMMV.
