While NOT technically HAT ads.....they are really cool.....and I would guess inspired many to get the hat pictured to go with their cigs..........,.,
The first with the Optimo Straw is 1938, the second with the "Whippet" style hat is 1949.

In the first ad, 1938 for Lucky Strike, the model seems to have a resemblance to Ronald Reagan. We know he modeled for magazine ads in his early days, so I wonder...

Back to the list......here is a glass Dobbs Candy dish....1950's or 60's.....sort of a nice reddish brown.....lid has the "Golden Coach" on it..... inside of the bottom is "DOBBS HATS" ....no other markings.

In 1942 LEE hats are changing the HAT-I-TUDE of the nation.... Note the "Water-Block" and the cheaper "AETNA" which is an "Insured Hat" whatever that means........

In 1948 we are introduced to the New Men's Hat Sensation!! The CHAMP!! At $7.50 it is as good as a hat of $15!!!!!
NOTE the names......"Gaucho", "B-17", and the "Diplomat"....AND with your new hat you get a 1948 Champ Football Book!
