Alex; I like your new hat. The Open Road like hat combined with more strat like-features makes it a hat that I can see getting much wearing time. On my computer the hat looks in very good shape. A stiff brush, naptha bath, light brush and steam will make that sucker shine!

Thanks Eric! Yeah I can definitely see the strat resemblance in it as well.
It also needs to be stretched for it to fit me. I'm considering that and other options..

Allow me to submit this well loved OResque look alike.
A Sears, Chief of State. The hat needs a few things done like a bath and a new sweat but the felt is soft and thin. It's a comfortable hat to wear. Given some time, I'll post pic after a revamp.

Very nice lid but doesn't have a bound edge which is a key part to the OR style....

Ah... good point! I prefer the raw brim, but you are quite right on that defining feature of the OR style.

To the "other Open Roads" you can add the Wormser 3X, Ten Star Quality.

Just got a white Wormser Open Road (1950s, I guess?).

I intend to get rid of the thin ribbon and put on a 1-3/4 inch black ribbon. But I wanted to get this photo up before I do that.

By the way, I know the tag says 6-7/8 but it fits like a perfect size 7! I thought I might have to replace the sweatband and have it stretched to fit, but, nope!

It sort of amuses me that it is both a "3X" and a "Ten Star Quality" hat! That's a lot of quality, baby!

This thing is clean as a whistle, too. I doubt it was ever much worn.
