When I blow up the original you can see the normal outline of the crown with the rest of that area being a blur of color. Maybe it was a Walgreens processing error.

This is a photo taken by my grandfather of a local Indian legend, Pedro Chino, around 1930. Pedro was the last authentic Cahuilla shaman, and local folklore often claims he was 125 when he died, although the census disagrees. Cahuillas believed he could shape-shift and had magical healing powers. My grandpa only said he was a good horseman, and could work cattle with the best of them. Frank
