June 26th marks the 140th anniversary of the Battle of Little Big Horn. There have been a few changes since the first marker was erected in 1926 at the 50th anniversary.

We have a circa 1934-1936 version of the famous Anheuser-Busch advertising poster hanging in our guest room. Similar to this modern reprint:

I went two yrs ago to the re dedication of the monument to the three tribes, first erected in the 1990's. Attended a sunrise service which was very moving. The only place I have ever been where I felt anything similar was at Shiloh. I made a pledge to myself to return for the 140th. I've known a guy for yrs who as it turns out is related to one of the scouts who died that day. He has never been & wants to go also.

That was Judge Roy Bean's saloon that he named the Jersey Lillie after Lillie Langtry with whom he was infatuated. He held court there as well.

And on Sunday it was probably a church!

While studying the little kid on the bicycle I realized that is Judge Roy Bean standing next to the bicycle on our left. He died just a couple of yrs after the turn of the century so that sets the timeframe of the pic.
