My weekday routine...

Wake to alarm at 4:45, hop up and head for shower while Barbi puts the coffee on, then she goes back to bed. Out of the shower to shave and comb/gel hair, decide which suit to wear and put on shorts, socks and undershirt. Turn off house alarm, go downstairs, get cup of coffee, and check email, news, etc. Return to bedroom at 5:40 to wake Barbi, brush teeth, and finish dressing, including hat. Apply cologne and head back downstairs to load pockets (phone, wallet, watch, pocket knife, handerchief, etc.). Barbi usually places a frozen lunch and a yogurt in my bag and has a travel mug of coffee ready to go. I put on my shoes, grab my bag, overcoat, and coffee and kiss her goodbye wishing her a wonderful day and out the door I go!

No dogs here at my apartment, however... growing up we had sheep, horses, chickens, 6 dogs, and 4 cats. Woo... the atomicblonde was a farmgirl! :)

My parents still have 3 horses, chickens, 5 dogs and 4 cats.... but I dont have to feed them anymore.... mwwwahahahahaha... and they wonder why I would rather live on my own in a teeny apartment with my goldfish than live there, even though the commute is only 30 minutes. I'd say my rent money pays for the extra sleep I get not having to shovel various kinds of animal poo out of the barn in the morning!

I have 4 toy poodles and no kids, so it is all about the dogs in the morning.

Get up at 6:30. Let poodle 1 out. Go out with poodle 4 and supervise him (he eats nasties). Bring poodles 1 and 2 back in. They both have muddy feet. Wash their feet.

Wife and poodles 2 and 3 get up. Give poodle 3 her medicine. Clean morning crud out of eyes of poodles 1, 2, 3 & 4. Wife feeds all 4 poodles. Let all 4 poodles out.

Bring all 4 poodles in. They all have muddy feet. Clean 16 muddy poodle feet. Go outside and clean up 4 poodles' worth of poop.

It rained last night.

Sounds like this morning, The Boxer wakes me up a 5:00 am to go out, then I let him back in, where he flys past me, going back to bed.

As I stumble back to bed, I find a Boxer happily stretched out with muddy feet all over my bed.
I chase one muddy footed Boxer around the house, since he now thinks it's playtime, penning him in the kitchen where he gets his paws cleaned.

Then comes throwing all the paw print covered stuff into the washer, and cleaning the paw prints off the floor.

Great morning, and I don't drink coffee.

A little too early-twentieth century for me, but I love it. I'm thinking, wake up at five, put on the percolator. Shower if I haven't done it the night before. Start breakfast, eggs, toast and juice (from scratch), and wake children. Get them dressed and at the table. Everyone eating while I replace my husband's freshly smudged tie (mmm, jelly) with a new one, and quickly prepare lunches of left-overs (yum, deviled eggs). Get him out of the door, followed by the children then attend to my daily wifely duties. Ah, the forties and fifties.

(By the way, none of this is my routine, just my dream-routine.)

I hate being predictable, but I walk my dog downtown about the same time every morning. But in a way I like to observe the routines of other people as I see the same people walking their dogs, or jogging, or heading to work...just like clockwork. There have been so many times that I've run into the same guy at the same corner coming around a building and our dogs getting into a barking match. It's almost like Groundhog Day.

In Golden Era U.S.A., you two would've had a hard time marrying. "Mixed marriages" were frowned upon, alas.

That's true. I might even be pressing my luck marrying Italians (never would have happened) or Cubans (if I'm in the right place).

That's what happened with baseball. These phenomenal players would arrived from the Latin world, but because they were of African decent (and therefore too "dark-skinned) they would be relegated to the Negro leagues. Now despite all the inherent problems of being on the road as a Negro team (sometimes unable to get a hotel room, long out of the way schedules, etc.) these teams clearly held some of the most phenomenal talent of the Twentieth-Century.

Ah, continually off-topic.:)

Awaken 5:00AM. Commit day to Him. Dress in shorts and t-shirt. Drink two large glasses of water. Eat bowl of unsweetened shredded wheat cereal/milk, and one navel orange. Check news, emails, Lounge. Kiss wife and daughter bye.

Grab bag with clothes/etc and get into vehicle at around 5:45.

Arrive at gym at 6:00AM. Play racquetball (if a Mon/Tues/Thurs) or lift weights (Wed/Fri) with my friend until 7:30. Shower, whirlpool, steamroom, shave, shower again (in that order). Dress, leave gym by 8:00. Drive across street to work. Go inside, drink protein shake, eat bowl of instant oatmeal. Get into my office at 8:30AM ready to work.

I think it was called "The Bingo Long Travelling All-Stars"?[huh] or something to that effect. It was about a Negro Baseball Team in the 1930's. It starred Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Williams and I forget who else. But, in the movie Richard Pryor's character tries to get into the white professional leagues by claiming he's Cuban or American Indian.:eek:fftopic: Up to 1948 there were miscegnation laws in 36 of the 48 states. I believe the twelve were Washington, Wisconsin, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticutt, and Ohio.:eek:fftopic: Sorry.[huh]

Let's see up at the sound of the alarm

Staring into the dark for about 20 minutes wondering what I'm going to do for the morning schedule. Roll out, shave and brush teeth, put on clothes and out the door.;)

Boy, you all have a regular routine, don't you. I work nights until 2 or 3 a.m. 2 or 3 days a week and can't get that much regularity in my mornings. Sometimes mornings start in the afternoon and sometimes they start at 5 or 6 a.m. I do grab my German Shepherd and run for at least a mile soon after waking no matter what time it may be. After that, I have to play it by ear.

Usually it's something like this:

6:45 - Alarm awakens me with a blast of rock music.

6:45:01 - I fly out of bed and skid across the carpet to where my alarm clock sits by my desk. Alarm is silenced by a swift strike to the snooze.

6:46 - I sit on my bed for a moment and work the nightly crud out of my eyes.

6:47 - Leave room, say good morning to folks, conduct morning bathroom business, put on gym clothes, read Bible.

7:00 - Toast/Fried Egg

7:15 - Second trip to bathroom.

7:30 - Navy SEALs workout via DVD.

8:50 - Change clothes.

9:00 - Schoolwork (I'm homeschooled so I can get away with a later start.)
