I'd be interested to know when diamonds first came into style? Teardrops too?

Last night I refined the diamond in my carbon gray Fed IV. Made it a little wider and deeper.

I lowered the whole crown by about 1/8" as well.

I contribute the following images to this thread. This is an Optimo in British Tan. You can see the diamond crease in the second image. Believe it or not, Graham Thompson made this hat for me at no charge because I had purchased about 15 hats from him at the time. I am now up to about 20.

Being a fan of 'Moon"s, I follow his video instructions explicitly...then I let the hat assume the position however it sees fit.

I've always thought Moon was the real thing, and captures the essence of whatever he does ..whether the spontaneity of Jazz or capturing that same spontaneity in the crease of his hat.

Tks, Moontheloon...as a Jazz musician I appreciate those who exhibit that "off the cuff style, and who lead by example..

My Akubra Fed IVs. I started with the Dark Brown just to see if I'd like it, and I liked it so much I immediately re-creased the other two.

I'm still not sure which way I like it better.

That’s incredible! The crease also changed the hat’s color.

Boy, on that hat that's a tough call. I really like 'em both, but I think I'd have to give the Diamond crease a slight edge.

The Indy AB proportions are so perfect that they can take either top crease with aplomb.

I'm sure this hat will go back to a center dent at some point.

Been wandering about all the threads in the Lounge and found the diamond intriguing. So I took a shot at dashing my Akubra Moonstone Adventurer. I have only had the Akubra for 4 months with a bash that DM did for me in the shop. The diamond did wonders on how the hat felt on the head....super comfy. Having a hard time not wearing it all the time. I have learned bunches from FL, will share some pics once I figure out how to attach.
