It’s pretty amazing, I live in Alberta Canada, so -20s/30s are normal, and the N1 can handle it. Its a toasty beast, if i didn't have mine, id get a Dehen N1, they're also amazing, I got mine for the price of a Dehen, so i made out like a bandit.
Alberta winter means we get to wear deck jackets a lot. I’m in Bragg creek just west of Calgary. Good score on your jacket, not often they show up used or for lower prices.

Howdy fellow Albertan, i got it on here, lucky it was my size and virtually brand new.
Definitely plenty of deck jacket weather here.

These sold out quickly, so I’m glad I ordered last week. The fit is pretty good and the weight and warmth is ideal for those of us living closer to the tropics.

Not sure if it'll happen again this year, but all the sites that had Dehen N1's all went on sale for "N1 Day" which would be this Sunday. I paid full price for mine last year, as they wouldn't honor the sale price, but if anyone is considering one, that would be the day I'd do it - they also raised their price this year, and they're now $1400, so a sale would be very helpful.

All that said, I love wearing the Dehen when it drops below 15°F or so, when its between that and ~35°F I use the Iron Heart N1.

I lived in Newport, RI for decades, and so did the USN till they were moved.

You folks can't begin to count the various types of Deck Jackets sold in surplus stores in NPT, given away, or even abandoned/trashed. It's astonishing to see foreign Mfrs making Repro deck jackets for stated prices.

FWIW, few USN personnel greatly valued these jackets. They were not intrinsically well-insulated, nor were they resistant to salt spray or rain. Any initial waterproofing was soon washed out of them and not replaced by ship's laundry.

Smart sailors wore these jackets only in mild weather. Other than that, inside windproof and water-resistant outer garments as water barriers and insulation.

Reminds me of Discussion concerning USGI Field jackets. Similar garments, with similar--and significant-- faults.
