Great Get!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!
Now this was a club I wanted to be a member of, but that's hard to do if you live in Europa. Basically: Cavanagh hats did not make it across the pond. They were never made under license in Europa and I haven't been able to find any evidence they were imported and sold here. Only thing left to do is throw a line out in the bay and see what somes up. This one did and I was kind of surprised I was able to get it at the low price it went for. It may have had something to do with the fact that it was listed as a bowler. It's not.
Cavanagh in brown, size 7 with the brim a touch under 7cm and the crown at 11,5cm at the pinch. Like new condition and the positive reviews these hat get here are well deserved; this is a very fine hat. From what I've been reading this one can be dated to 1952 or 1953. It came with a box, but that stayed behind in Oregon, because shipping it over seems to require more money that sending over a live kidney.
I have that great feeling again that I could be the only one in the country owning one of these.

Thanks, gentlemen! I've been reading about Cavanagh hats here on the lounge for some time now and the more I read, the more I wanted one. It is indeed awesome. I'll see if I can do a comparison with the Stetson Imperial and Stetson Sovereign I have soon.Awesome and congrats!
Why is the grass greener on your hat than mine?
Color envy
