The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

French sizing hadn't occurred to me. That means it has shrunk about a size and a half over the years as it fits like a tight 7 1/4 or loose 7 1/8. Here's a pic of the tag under a magnifier. It appears printed to me. Thanks for your help!

The 6 is on the sweatband so it might be a size smaller (5 1/2). I can't see the right hand side of the paper label. Is there a number at the far right? If so what is it and is machine printed? Also can you carefully fold out the half oval paper label at the rear of the sweatband and post a photo of it? Thanks!

I can't make out if there is anything written on the right side. The oval tag is glued firmly to the sweatband and does. It unfold. Thanks.

Sorry the small paper tag on the sweatband is actually folded over to the printed side but the printed size is worn away. It would have looked like this (it would have a 6 if Point 6).

Again my guess is early 1950s late 1940s but could be earlier. By the way great find!

I have realized that Borsalino hats seem to run small in size. 7 1\4 to me fits more like a 7 1\8

Vintage ones (original factory) tend to be that way. I have no idea about current ones.

Size is 6 so a 59 cm. in Europe and 7 3/8 in the US

Qualità Extra Finissima

Extremly interesting combination of color felt (called cord) and the thin ribbon in silver

Spago color, brim at 6 cm and crown bashed at 10,5 cm low point

Low weight and medium peachy felt finished with short brim

It is slightly worn and in excellent condition

This is my first Borsalino in a so bizarre color!

Here is mine. Size 4 1/2 cloth tag. Onion or oil skin over liner tip. So probably late 50s early 60s era.
Slightly bigger fit fixed with some felt behind the sweat. Better bigger than too small though I say. I was at a traffic light that was red. Ha. No worries there.

Borsalino classic sold probably in Napoli. It came with others brothers from that town worldwide famous

Size is 6 so a 59 cm. in Europe and 7 3/8 in the US

Probably Qualità Superiore from the model....it was without lining

It was a little abused and without the ribbon, so I opted for a restauration in USA
Bob at BSHW provided the ribbon with a Borsalinesque bow, the original Borsalino lining and the modern sweatband

Dattero color, brim at 7 cm and crown bashed at 10 cm. low point
Low weight and medium plain felt with original bounded brim

It has a shape that usually was the fashion top during the late 40' and early 50'. Not so easy to found here in Italy

The actual Borsalino is here for the excellent work of Bob at BSHW
