Today arrived, the Borso from my deal with the seller.
Very dusty but the lining looks unworn.

I have today written to Borsalino, to see if you can read on paper label
how old is the hat.
Still waiting for answer.

Please, please let us all know the response you receive. It probably would be worthy of placing in a new thread. I have a few borsalinos whose age I would like to determine.

My sincere thank Al, for the kind words. I really appreciated them.
Its a wonderful Hat with a very stiff felt. The sellers I am very grateful I did not want to believe that he means only EUR 5.

Echter Borsalino, size 5 1/2, probably pre WWII. It's rare to find a older one like this.

It has a similar look to my other older Echter Borsalino.

Nice job, Manfred. I was thinking I'd got some good Borsalino deals of late, but I can't compete with you!

This one is an Alessandria style that I liberated from eBay. It is already one of my favorite hats and I wear it a lot.
The super soft Borso felt is in perfect condition and has the same simple liner design as my Borsalino Pesca. It is one of the felts that looks very different depending on the light. Changes from greyish, to greenish to brownish - very cool.

Any recent pictures of modern Dark Grey Borsalinos here? I recently got a Taupe (brownish grey) Verdi and will probably get a Steel Grey one also, wondering if a Dark Grey is better more versatile than say a Brown one. I like the Verdi. Thanks
