Fabulous work as usual, Terry. I love my black fedoras.
Thank you, steur! I used to hate black hats with a passion. But now, I'm okay with them as long as they have a nice straight profile with crisp lines. Green hats and hats with greenish undertones, on the other hand, definitely not for me...(although some people look good in greenish hats).

There was a time, Terry, when I could sport a beard as good as your's. I wore it to cover the unsightly mole on my chin. Nowadays the beard is more akin to Santa's, so the chin is clean shaven, and the mole more prominent, but the vanity within me prefers a mole to silvery white whiskers. However, a hat as fine as that and worn with a similar panache, might be the perfect antidote to the Santa syndrome.

Thank you buddy!

I think I've had a beard since my late 20s, nearly 40 years. I shaved it off once when I was in my 30s. I took one look at my face in the mirror and decided it would be better if I hid it underneath a beard.

I hear ya, Terry. I haven't seen my face in 30 years. Some things are better kept from the public eye.
This is how I actually look without the beard...

I have 1 black hat that previously never saw the light of day. A 'no name', used, no liner and rotted sweat. Wonderful soft felt, like a great vintage Borsa. I rehabilitated the hat because of the felt and the style in spite of disliking its blackness. Well I now have two Buffalo plaid vintage jackets (Green and a Red) that only really go with a black hat. Now that I have a good reason to wear the black hat I am really liking it ….a lot.

Curmudgeon? You? What nonsense. You are always an interesting and tolerant poster here on The Lounge, that's why you know it's ok to post your beautiful silver grey hat in the black hat thread, you know that nobody will take umbrage. Well done you.
I'm teasing of course, as well you know, but I'm serious when I say the shark gills on that hat ribbon are superb, absolutely exquisite.

Doctor's appointment this morning, he's such a well turned out fellow, I can't let the side down. Later I have to see my dentist, lost a filling over the weekend. Then I have to drop Tina's car in for a service, following that I need to go to the post office to check that my Christmas cards that are going abroad have the correct postage. Busy old day.
