SUIT JACKET FIT CHECK...THOSE PESKY SLEEVES

Got this Canali wool suit at a great price and am planning to get it tailored but want to make sure it's the right fit in ways that a tailor can't fix. Pants are fine.

Looking for a relatively classic but smart (i.e. not boxy and conservative but not #menswear slim either).

Please forgive the untucked shirt.

I plan to bring in the waist a bit but what's irking me is the way that the sleeve pitch and shoulder divot inconsistently rear their heads. Pitch looks fine on one arm, can look off on the other. Same with the shoulder divot. I've looked into both and I don't *think* there's an issue with the armhole shape but it's also hard to know since I"m not an expert.

Nevertheless, would be happy to get any feedback. Thanks!

The menswear crowd was never about skinny slim fit suits. Thom Browne was being mocked on Style Forum 20 years ago. At the time, SF and TFL basically had no difference of opinion on fit matters; more just stylistic preference.

And now if anything SF goers are usually more traditionally dressed than TFL goers.

Anyway, can you please tuck in your shirt, wear your trousers properly, and wear the coat again so we can give fit feedback? The untucked shirt obscures too much for fit feedback to work.

FWIW I’m not wearing the suit pants here but can repost in a proper outfit.

I’ll also post me wearing the 42 (this one is a 44) since I think I may be in the unenviable position of the 42 jacket fitting ever so slightly better while the 42 pant being too tight in the thigh to be able to let out/fix. I may check back with my tailor and get his thoughts.

Nevertheless, pics will be incoming!

When I read that a tailor can't fix something that needs to be tailored, I thought: "How come?" A few years ago I bought a striped blazer from a trader at a festival. One of the sleeves didn't fit like the other and the front panels, (it's double breasted) hung lob-sided, one being lower than the other, but the price was almost a giveaway and I knew who could fix it.

My wife is rather talented with her sewing machine, she looked up Wiki: https://www.wikihow.com/Sew-a-Suit and came to the conclusion that the original owner had some sort of dexterity loss in one arm. Made to measure is ideal for anyone with such a disability. My lady fixed it perfectly. You can see it on this thread. Just look for my forum name. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/what-hat-are-you-wearing-today.94860/page-4049#post-3154056
