What are the different fabrics that are ideal for such shirts?

We intend to add some new fabrics and can keep those in mind and prioritize.

I think the Red Dress Stripes will look good too.

I think it's best to have a look through this thread (and other catalogue scans on the FL) at the various styles and fabrics. I think multi width stripes tend to be popular. And there were certainly plenty of bright coloured shirts around in the 1930s etc.
The yellow shirt you posted earlier was, in my opinion, a very good example.

true, but most vintage wearers want muted colours for a shirt rather than bright.

Luxire, i've seen a couple of good vintage-repro shirt fabrics by the higher end designers (like Ralph Lauren and YMC) but have yet to find any comparable shirt fabric to buy by the metre. for the most part i find modern shirt fabrics to be too thin, smooth and the patterns too basic.

Cotton flannel. That's what we're all looking for, really. Lighter weight than a flannel work or hunting shirt, but with that fluffy soft brushed finish.

Mint green with hot pink stripes would be nice.

Agreed (on both counts!). That would be great for the Winter....

The big thing for me would be a good range of colours, and not just white (or just white and sky blue). Flexible as white is, there are only so many dress white shirts I need / want. For those of us who wear a collar and tie on an almost daily basis uch of the year (which would be, I assume, most of us on the FL...), it's nice to be able to mix it up a bit....

We do have a very good stock of brushed flannels, in different traditional plaids. Will try to have them live over the next couple of days. MAny of them by this evening.

They are very well made. Most are 2 fold 20s , 2/30s and similar counts. Will age nicely and should sell well as vintage a few years later

But do let me know if these are the kind of designs that would be of interest.

Those'd be nice for work shirts. Quite a few of the muted ones are very nice.

What I'd like is a cotton flannel in plain or with a stripe. Think of any basic business shirt fabric, turn the fabric into a flannel, and that's what I - and know others are, too - am looking for. Such fabrics appear to be uncommon, in that few (or none?) places seem to offer them.

Correct. I inquired with Jantzen as well as Hemrajani Bros. and neither offer flannel in a solid color. I am very pleased with what I get from Jantzen, but if you'd offer a plain cotton flannel I'd be severely tempted. Darcy's offer a grandpa shirt in striped cotton flannel, but it's OTR and wouldn't fit me.

Here are a few good ones though. The grey herringbone is thick, soft and very vintage.

Also a few interesting oxfords.

Something in camel, dark khaki, olive, or forest green would be nice solid colors - also some tattersalls or checks with fall colors would be good patterns.

I do have some camel and khaki solid cotton twills and a few tattersalls that would try and add next week. Added a sizable new collection here with some interesting fabrics.
