Um, back in the old days of Grandma Mildred, linen/cotton bedclothes had wooden knobs or is that another marketing joke?

Very unsual to handle, but I'm looking forward, if this 50/50 linen/cotton bedcloth will serve me well, I tell you! :)

Have the flashing indicators on vehicles that are supposed to warn other drivers of the intended direction the vehicle is taking, be that left, right or overtaking, have they now become an optional extra? It seems as though it's all become a game off: Guess which way I'm going?

^^^ This is one of my pet peeves. Especially if their lack of signaling prevents me from making a turn specifically because I have know idea where they are going until they actually turn the wheel. Harrumph. Angry face.

Driving from southern California to Las Vegas over the last couple of days (approximately 260 miles one way) gave me opportunities to put my observation skills to the test, and my companion(s) were mildly impressed by the way I was able to guesstimate what stupid things certain drivers were going to do and how I was able to avoid them.

In my experience, this is almost always seen on one of those over-priced, "aspirational" big saloons or Chelsea tractors, you know the type - the same basic model which looks identical bar the Merc / BMW / Audi / w.h.y. branding on it. To be frank, if I'd paid out *that* for a car and got one of those badge-engineered bland mobiles, I'd probably have assumed I'd bought the road as well too.
