I'd guess late 60s-early 70s. They remind me of some of Elvis's stuff that was on display at Graceland. 2 for $5 is hard to pass up.

I always thought this old LP cover art would make an ideal vintage necktie...

If you could design your own vintage tie what would it look like?

Looks like someone is stealing from The Duel in the Sun tie series from 1947 there. :p

If I were to draw from a couple of brands in the day, I would go with Cohama, Hollyvogue and Botany. Some their stuff is amazing!

If I could? It would be red, with gold Chinese dragons on it. I'd LOVE to own a tie like that. So far, I haven't found one.

EDIT - Something like this:

I see this tie as a expresssion of the Irish status quo for the time. Blue collar work, Notre Dame "fighting Irish" fist and walking away from work, and "the man" for your day to celebrate. Most people are unaware, beginning from approx. 1900 in most big cities fire fighters were, Irish, African-American, Czech and Polish and other minority's. It was a terrible way to make a living w/ the schedule, dangerous work and low pay!~ With the high mortality rate and low pay who would do this?
And the tie of the day is seasonal:

Today I'm wearing my only airbrushed hand-painted. 4-1/2" wide, no labels, feels like rayon or acetate. The vertical lines can almost act as a knot-planned if I'm careful, but they don't cover much area.

Good one. I only have a single tie of that particular abstract style as well. Whenever I look at it or any others I always wonder just what was going on in someone's head - both the someone who painted it AND the someone who purchased it.
I know what was going on in mine - woohoo a cool vintage tie for a buck!

A cool tie for a buck would keep me from thinking more about it. :p

Hi Folks

Spring weather here in NJ, so the straw came out along with my spring flowery tie...
Both ties were purchased for $1.00 at the church sale.... Very interesting ties,,, The white is cotton...
