Show us your TIES

Speaking of Towncraft DeLuxe. Anther nice one. Come to think of it, I don't know that I have any food-themed ties. I have a couple that someone covered in food though. Does that count?

:eeek: No, that doesn’t count. :p

I have a tie that has cocktail recipes on it. Really good for bar night. :p
It is actually a Cohama tie. I am finding out recently that Towncraft usually double tagged their items which makes sense because some of their ties are of such a caliber that they definitely had to have been made by the better manufacturers of the time like Cohama, Botany, Hollyvogue and Wembley et al.

Thanks Gents.

Metatron, interesting tie. Any make?

Nothing exciting, Marks and Spencer St Michael.
In fact some of the old M&S stuff is very nice, but whenever I walk into their shops nowadays, I find their products are thoroughly conservative and lacking in design. No flair at all.
It's a shame, because as we all know, classic needn't be boring...

Agreed but most ties today are dead boring. I suppose they all think we were in the military, school alumni or some organization with all the prevalent stripes et al.

Unfortunately, I cannot recall the brand name, but I came across a handful of modern Italian ties in a thrift store a while back that, from afar, fooled me for vintage. They were silk with beautiful brocades and vibrant Bold Era graphics. I would have snagged them if they hadn't been so long. I stumbled across another one a couple months ago that also fooled me from a distance. If my torso were a foot taller, they might pass for vintage. Since that's not the case, they are simply moments of excitement from afar followed by horrible disappointment up close.:p

Tie a full Windsor. That will make a tie shorter. :p

Today's peach: 4" wide, labeled "By McCurrach, woven of Celanese, rayon" and "Auburn's Leaning Store: Marshall's for men and boys":
