Thrift store purchase from a few days ago. Wembley, feels like rayon/acetate, c.late-'50s.

Amazing that they still had the original tags on them after fifty odd years of storage. Good find.
In 1953, Dupont opened its plant to produce Dacron on a large scale so it dates after that and probably before 1965. It looks too wide to be anything worn after that time---until the 70s of course.:eeek::eusa_doh:

Yep, was very happy to find all three tags.

There are no ZIP codes so they're at least pre-1963. My guess is mid-1950s.

^^Yes, great find! (Love Superba ties.) Regarding zip codes, some cities had them as far back as 1943 (Los Angeles went by two digits, although I can't recall them right now). Judging on style, width, and price tag, I'd say your ties are mid-'50s.

I found some conservative looking ties at a couple of different Goodwill stores here in town.

The white and red one is NOS from Wool-O-Wisp, styled by Regal and hand loomed. The back of the new tag says, "Made in USA by Frank & Meyer Neckwear Co. St. Louis

The black with gold has a label that reads, "Wembley Drip-Dry; wear with brown or green suit." Black and old gold are the colors of the university I teach at so maybe I'll show some Boilermaker spirit by wearing it to work.

The salmon colored one has no label.

The green stripe one has one label that says, 50% Dracon Poly 50% wool

^ Wembley Drip-Dry is kind of rare to see. I'm guessing that it lasted for a bit during the early-'60s.

Tie on left, no label, machine stitching, no liner, very short length, possibly from the 1920's.
Tie on right, Mister Slim reg. no. 618,278 rayon knit of unkown age. Possibly '50s-early '60s. Bought for my friend.
