Yup. There are several collectors on eBay who spend BIG money on 4 types of vintage ties:

-- Ties painted with airbrushed gouache. Gouache is a painting medium similar to watercolor, but heavier and more opaque because a gum substance is added to the mixture of ground pigment and water.

-- Ties with images of nude women, be they handpainted or printed. The more nude, the better.

(Sorry, no link! Use your imagination ;))

-- Ties with images from popular 1950s TV shows and cartoons.

-- Ties with political images and slogans, especially from the '30s and '40s. ("Vote for Roosevelt" ties do well. "I Like Ike" ties are less popular.)

Some Bow Ties

The two to the left are made of Palm Beach fabric by Beau Brummell. I'm a particular fan of the yellow one. Works very well with white suits ...

And some others. I particularly like the pink 'un and the brown polka dots one at the far left.

I like them all... the two striped ones are pretty cool... like the small checked pattern between the stripes! And the cool thing is that they're the same pattern but, different colors.

The yellow and brown one is different... in a good way! I'd buy it if I saw it.

They're all ties I'd wear... the rest are some what early 50's... they're pretty smooth Scott!

That's cool... I have a sickness my self, I'd buy just about any tie I liked if the price was good... now, I have a mess of ties and some I've haven't worn yet.

Oh, so many ties and so little places to wear'em!
