Spent last weekend at my in-laws helping with their yard sale. Their sale was part of town-wide sales which, in turn, was part of a larger Hometown Days festival. I stepped out briefly to pick up a couple items at the local grocery store and hit up a yard sale that was getting ready to close down on the final day.

Clearly wanting to unload whatever they could they asked me to make an offer on some men's suits. After humming and hawing a bit they said, "How about $5 each?" This was quickly followed with, "Buy one get one free." Suffice to say, I managed to find a couple 3-piece suits for $5.

Picked this up last week and spent the weekend repainting some of the tiles.

It's a mahjong set from the 1920s. Made in Shanghai, in China. The tiles are bone and bamboo.

I can't wait to share it with my friends during our Christmas meetup and play a few games with it.

Sets like these often don't survive in anywhere near this sort of state, so this set, being in damn-near-perfect condition, is a rare, rare, piece.
