Local auction wins. I was needing the hat can and can probably get more out of the too-small-for-me hat than I paid. Also scored some nice carbon with aluminum braking surface road bike wheels (and several other lots of bike related "stuff") for way under value.

Better than a yard sale or thrift....I found this aluminum cooler amongst a pile of junk that was thrown out of an old house I went to work on this afternoon.

It has this really cool pattern on the inside.

It's missing it's latch and is a little rough but it'll be perfect for keeping the beers cold on the front porch.

Just grabbed this suite-case which I think is from the 40's. It is a Maximilian of N.Y. suite case in gorgeous shape with only a few rips that can be glued back down. The inside is perfect and it even came with its luggage tag! It is shot but still there. Any other info about the company or age?

In the category of things I found at the flea mall but passed up because they wanted too much $$$ for but were still cool enough to share.....

An old Esso gas station travel cooler

An old, possibly Hazel-atlas glass commemorating Alabama's 1964 national championship. @Bamaboots can appreciate this, I know, and maybe some more folks here.....although I doubt any of us could appreciate it as much as the seller did. $45!!!! Roll Tide, but you might as well hang on to that gem.

Picked this up at a local auction for $60 to use in our bedroom at the farm. The trend of falling prices for “brown” furniture worked out well for us. Walnut with burled walnut drawer fronts and the coolest piece of marble that I’ve run across on similar pieces. May have even saved it from a future life in chalk paint.

Not a hole ... clear solid.

We’ll move the bottom pull up to replace the missing one the middle and use some old glass pulls on the bottom for now.

We were able to squeeze it into the back of my wife’s Jeep Wrangler. Then she bought a large home-woodworker-built oak bookcase that would not fit. Had to call the neighbor to bring his truck as mine was at the farm hitched to a loaded trailer and I didn’t think my wife would be able to separate them (I wasn’t about to leave as I came to this auction to buy woodworking tools, etc. and didn’t want to miss anything). I did get this circa 1930 10” scroll saw and lots of other “stuff”.

We were there from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm — outside in 90+ heat. We’re thankful that we have a great neighbor and happy that he found a few things to buy as well. Plus he had fun digging through the vintage nut/bolt chest of drawers that I bought.

Celebrated the negative results from my covid test by going to the flea today. Nabbed this pair of shot glasses. The Alabama souvenir one had a couple of passes to the 1952 state fair stuffed into it.

I was sorely tempted, but I passed on this Joe Louis clock that was missing his clock. If it'd been all there it probably would've been a different story.

Found this 50’s metal garage stool at a local vintage decor shop. Has some rust but eventually I may strip it and repaint it so I can use it with my recently repainted cabinet.
