I have a mirror like the second one and I would say it's from the late 1800s or the early 1900s.
Both of them are beautiful

DNO - that's a beautiful vase - a gorgeous colour!
I got these two mirrors in Oxfam yesterday - they have opened a new branch that deals with vintage furniture - can't wait to go back again and see what they have:

I agree, lovely finds Miss G. I would say the second mirror is indeed Edwardian. The first forties or fifties. I love the glass on the second one. It amazes me you can pick up these lovely quality looking glasses with nice bevelled edges so cheaply. Believe me i went to a glaziers to have some glass replaced once in a mirror and nearly fainted.
We quite often have customers who make comments, sometimes not very polite about patina on certain items, i always very politely tell them, that if they were the same age as the item, they would probably have a few nicks and scratches too.
I laughed when I read that! You are so right!!!!!!!! I think it's nice for old things to have a little wear and tear - it adds to the charm of the piece.
Then the people who make comments end up going to buy some new junk in the store labeled "Shabby Chic.":eusa_doh:
That's just it - some "distressed" furniture that someone just took a bit of sandpaper to - I tell you, give me the real deal any day!
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Distressed by people, children and pets.
If you leave children alone with most modern furniture then it will end up looking worse than shabby chic.![]()
Miss Golightly...tried to send you a PM but your box is full. Could you clear some space there? Thank you.
Now there's an idea - I have one child and two marauding cats - I could make a fortune!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Ten bucks!? Man, that's a steal, I'd say.Picked up this curio cabinet at St. Vinnie's for ten bucks today. I was looking at it and one of the employees came by and put a 10 dollar tag (was 15) on it, while I was looking at it. Figured it was fate.

Thrift stores 'round here usually try to sell things in five times worse shape than that for five times more.
