Marc is that newsboy cap in your avatar a make up from a vintage original or the real McCoy?

It's the real McCoy. A "Malrov" brand cap from the '20s or '30s. At present, the only caps I own are vintage ones.

More views of that hat. Off-topic, but what the hell:

I'd like a hat, suit and coat from that fabric. Of course, I'd never wear them together.....;)

I had to share these, i thought they were amazing. I had to post them up for you all to see. This website is really neat in the fact of the clothes hats and shoes they show.

shoes from 1890 on wisconsin historical museum website. Thinking of getting the pair which would have laces custom made.

Issh...I'll be listing the Martin & Martins, a Edwin Clapp New Englander Wing, (both black) and--I think--a 7 eyelet English Cap Toe, (the classic reddish brown) all next week. I'll PM you when I do.

I love those Holbrook & Smith, I am sure I definately need a pair in tan they'd be ideal to wear on a warm night in Spain.
Got these the other day, Treshams made in England, don't know when the company ceased trading or how old these are as nothing comes up on Google.
Anyway I like these the grainy texture does a good job of hiding any creases, they have had little wear ...I dont think they've been re-heeled?
Nicely constructed and lovely and comfortable when on, the only damage is a couple of very slight 'chips' on the right hand heel top area where the foot goes in though that should be easily remedied.

Those Treshams are nicely made but need instant leather conditioning. That chipping is an indication of dryness.

I second that. Cookie has taught me the importance with dealing with interior dryness BEFORE trying to wear vintage shoes. Give it some time & lotsa good conditioner & you'll be ready to rock those Elephants.

Another day of Crappy Weather here in New Jersey. I don't know about "global warming", but the weather patterns have sure changed in NJ over the past decade. As my wife has joked me about the growing shoe collection (which had remained steady at 30 pairs, but has since grown), I have responded by explaining the necessity of "Bad Weather Shoes". Of course I've got the requisite Timberlands for big snow days, but what about the rest of the rainy, slushy crap days that'll ruin your favorite pair of calfskin oxfords???

Vintage (1950's) Lotus Pebble Grain Cap Toe Boots...

First time I wore them, I was out with my son in the rain & stepped into a mudhole all the way up to the ankle. No leakage, no wetness, dried perfectly & good as new (or at least as good as 60 year-old boots can be). These things are IRON (and the Veldt welt doesn't hurt).

Does anyone know anything about Johnnie Walker shoes? I know they were made in the US, but were they a company, or made for the Johnnie Walker store in Milwaukee? Nice shoe, but I can't find anything out about them.

I have not heard of that brand but they would be very late 40s/early 50s with the seven eyelets, white stitching and heels of the era. They are reminiscent of those Stetsons isshi is selling at the moment. They look very much like a pair that was on eBay recently.

Thanks, Cookie. I missed them on eBay. They do have a Stetson "look" to them. With the sewn tag like Stetson I wondered if they might have been made for a store. I am not aware that Stetson ever did "store branded" work, though.
