Yes they don’t make enough of them
I cruise eBay and look for white dress shirts with french cuff and regular cut from Brooks Brothers and the quality is something we like here. B.B. shirts are easy to hand wash, hand dry and iron, coming out looking sharp as a tack for a lot of wear. At times I find great deals then buy them right up. I sort of help weed out some dress shirts as after being washed and worn so many times, the collar size seems to shrink a bit so I like to have some new shirts waiting to be tossed into the rotation for Daniel. And you have to admit, most of the clothing line from B.B. is top shelf quality and great style for a gentlemen to wear.

With summer coming, it is in the near weeks to pull out all the summer wear suits and sports jackets and find the straw hats as well for wearing.

I usually post comments into the Hats forum so this is my first post to this forum and specifically to the Thread on "Show us your SHOES !!!" I must confess to having an addiction to shoes in general and that I own about 40 pair, though none of them vintage. I have shoes by Paraboot, John Lobb, Heschung, Harry's of London, Santoni and my latest passion Bontoni. I have 3 pair of Bontoni on order and as they only make about 10 pair of shoes a day it will be several more months before they arrive. Anyway, in an effort to contribute, here is a John Lobb shoe in Apple Green. I shot the photo when I ordered the shoes so that is why there is only 1 shoe in the photo.

Lobb makes a very high quality shoe as does the entire list of shoe makers you made mention. Santoni has picked up there pace on coming out with some fantastic new shoes that are killer and of course offer some higher quality from one model line to the other.

At some point in time if you find a NOS (never worn) real vintage shoe and wear them for a few days you will see some similar high points for wearing them as compared to other shoes on the market, of course it would depend on what vintage shoe you have to wear. One shoe I would myself think shoe lovers can have as a "holy grail" are the Foot Joy shoes that were made on the "Rex" last. It is not just a style with that last but also the comfort put into the shoes by Foot Joy. Then of course the cost of shoes for a really good shoe today, not sure on the price of your John Lobb shoes, but for less money normally one can find a high end vintage and with luck a pair never worn yet.

The green for a color choice is crazy good! Someone once stated a green shoe is only easy to wear with green pants or similar colored clothing...I do not agree...green shoes can go with anything any time any place as they just have an appeal all on their own.

If you ever have an interest in a good vintage shoe, let me know I may be able to help you with a pair if I know a shoe size you prefer.

Thansks for sharing your shoes with us.

How about a pair of suede longings? Before Alden's price increase went into effect I ordered a pairt of suede longwings. Green - yes green. The hunter green I thought would work well in a variety of seasons and situations. They arrived recently and today I have been nano coating them with a Bick product. Once the Bick coating drys I will suede brush them and the nap should re-appear.

I picked them up from my cobbler today after having a rubber protector applied to the sole. The weather in MN is hard on an oiled sole and the rubber protects it a tad bit more.

The green suede is definately a casual or casual dress shoe. I did hunt for a pair with the "antiqued edges." In plain language that is a lighter edge. I thought it might be fun to have an accenting edge to the longwings. Longwings - well I am just a fan of the details.

Thanks for letting me share my green suede shoes.

Happy trails to all, Eric -
Great shoes, Eric. The green suits you well. You can do a lot with that shoe

Yes, I'm a big fan of them too. Have been since one of my great uncles cast off a new pair of Florsheim Imperials in my direction in about 1968. Wore them for years as my going out dancing shoes.

Today I found a pair of spectators at my favorite vintage store.

Very rarely run across any of these around here. In fact this is the first pair I've seen near my size. The jury is still out on the fit, the left foot is great, the right not quite there yet.

Now for a little round of conditioning and polishing.

I was pushed to gather a few more options offered by Alden by the folks on the Style Forum and of course your pics sir. Indeed the forest green suede shoes have been finding lots of foot time at my house. It pairs well with my clothing choices. I am finding that suede is incredible easy care, durable and clean looking wear after wear. Amazing to me. My experience has only been with Alden and Allen Edmonds Bucks.

I have been seriously considering a pair of chucka's after seeing yours.

I picked up these shoes this morning. This pair of shoes is Luciani II from Bontoni. I ordered them in December 2017 and they just came in today. Bontoni only produces 10 pair of shoes per day so it takes a while for delivery. I have 2 other pair on order.

Excellent shoes. If I saw them on one's feet, I'd think they were true vintage. Those scream quality, good investment!
