BK; That 3rd "very old" Bors. looks great. Lived in, storied, yet sharp. An old, dashing rake whose prime never really fades out. It says, "I've been places... and I'll go a lot more." (Can you tell I like the hat?[huh] )
NB

Yeah, i really like it, too. It's got moth bites, light stains and that hole in the ribbon, and the sweatband is detached in places, but i love her. I've tentatively dated it to the early nineteen teens. On the sweatband they are bragging about the Grand Prix Turin 1911 instead of the normal Grand Prix Paris 1900 and are calling themselves G. B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro & Co.. So i think it was produced shortly after the turin win, before returning to the bragging about Paris.

Here're two Penny's Marathons.

The only skinny ribbon i still own

Thanks Dean, Christmas was good but driving in fog and rain at night in traffic on a full stomach was my idea of a fun time. I trust yours was a happy and health one.

Bk, the light tan Marathon looks fantastic.

I have piles though lately i seem to gravitate to my old modern Optimo Graphite. I didn't know the back was down when I had this pic taken.

Same hat as in avatar on the left.

That's a great looking hat! How wide is the brim?

I have some more pics on the way, but for some reason, photobucket is being tricky. I'll need to reload a few photos when I get home. Until then, here is a picture of my navy Biltmore Senator I acquired from Bond's of Beaverdale in Des Moines. That classic shop has since closed...:(

This is my Hukel homburg

This is my first fedora. I can't tell you who made it or what color it is because under one light, it's green, under another it's gray. No kidding. My friends and I call it the magic fedora and I have a matching green/grey wool scarf just for this hat.

On the left is a wool felt porkpie and on the right is a cotton club fedora.

Finally, my brown Biltmore Senator being identical to the blue.

btw, for those of you interested, the two Biltmores are fur felt, the green/grey one is fur felt?, the porkpie was wool and the homburg is...wool...I think, just well made wool felt.

Just in case some of you thought I didn't own a fur felt after those previous posts of mine.;)

I've blocked out my son's face but here is his favorite hat...which is now getting a bit tattered. I am envious of dundeedavie's lovely hat. Where can I find one of those for my little guy ?

:D
