Yes, yes it is. BUT...it is still a work in progress. I've ordered some grosgrain ribbon (vintage striped) that will adorn it after the new year. It ain't over yet!

Well..then there will be an unveiling for that shy little debutante in pictures?

This is my "PROJECT HAT" IT IS A 1960'S 3X Beaver Sheriff's hat
Is it a fedora ??

Tinman

It is now. I've often wondered how those kinds of hats would modify. Looks great on the ribbon, and you know, green hats have a special quality here in the lounge.

I've decided to connect this thread to the past.
Isn't this what we are all about? ;)

Here is a really comfortable Dobbs hat and vintage d.b. suit.

You remind me of a friend I had in highschool, Jamespowers. Are you Sicilian? Anyway, that lovely lady on the wall is Gillian Anderson, the smart-man's goddess. (Hope I didn't offend anyone with that. I'm so used to it, I didn't even think about it.)

Holy Crimony! My photo came back in a different guise after over a year and I didn't respond to your question. Nope, not Sicilian. However, last time I was there they thought I was so it kind of makes sense. ;)
The hat int he photo is a 1930s Capper and Capper--- that is the only marking on it. It has a plush finish and an underwelted brim. It is sort of an olive color but you can't tell from the picture. :D

J

That hat had such beautiful felt. The pic above was in C-crown mode with some serious rake from front to back. It would hold any shape i bashed. It was simply too small for moi. Here're the rest of the pics:

Open crown and centre dent with slight front pinch.

Roughly a C-crown with front pinch and cattleman's bash.

And here's the liner.

Sometimes It is better just to give it up. I have been saying this to myself for a while. I can't seem to make the jump though. I hope it went to a good home.
