This thread is fantastic!
This thread is fantastic!
A lesson in how to grow old disgracefully. Thoroughly disgracefully. Pic taken by the photographer at our God-daughter's wedding,
Okay, here is my (lazy) interpretation of Retro Gi Jane's 'do!
Here we are at Hep Cats, and wouldn't you know it, she's been stood up. It was the BBC not Channel 4. Hey ho, there will be other times.Sometimes it's best not to say anything until it's happened. But, sticking my neck out. Next weekend, July 6th, we will be at a popular Swing-Jive weekend event known as: "Hep Cats." Also there, will be a film crew from the television company: Channel 4. My wife, in her spare time, is a retro hair stylist. The Channel 4 presenter, we don't know who that maybe yet, wants her hair styled: "40's, victory rolls." This will be filmed, and, at the same time, my wife will be interviewed. Once done, I'll put it up on YouTube for all to see. Watch this space. Or, the egg on the face if she is stood up!
i love your hair! i want to do that with my hair hahahaha you should make a tutorial i beg hahaha
you look absolutely amazing!
Oh, and GHT, I think you guys look just fantastic. If that's growing old disgracefully, that's what I want to do!!
Terrific 'do's Shebear74, GHT, and Tatum. When I try a new style, I have my stylist do it and show me the tricks o the trade. I admit that I'm bad about reading the directions in the book, which are terrific, I just learn better when I see someone do it first. I've been wanting to try Snood Style 1 from Retro Hairstyles. My hair is now long enough and I bought a couple of snoods recently. Here's the best pic I could get:[/url].
Loving that pic, Tenuki. When my wife gets asked to do a snood hairstyle, at retro events, she uses a neat trick for those ladies whose hair may be too short to bulk out the snood hairnet. A simple, comb attached, hairpiece, fitted under the ladies own hair, creates the extra hair to fill out that snood. It's completely invisible, survives energetic dancing and draws admiring compliments. Check out this book, you will love the cover.

Here's my hair today. Just another basic pin curl set. Still working on the technique & setting pattern but it's already improved a ton from day 1.
