I know it's kind of down market in some folks' view, but I really appreciate a sling on a double gun. When I had my pointer I'd carry the gun broken and upside down slung off my left shoulder and hold two shells in my right hand. When Cookie went on point all I had to do was roll the Browning over, drop the shells in and close the action. Never had to take my eyes off the dog. Damned few pheasant ever got away from us, I can tell you. Quail, either.

Part of my ever-growing vintage LAPD collection, S&W K38 Target Masterpiece (Model 14, .38 special) 6" barrel, in the correct 1950s-1970s "clamshell" holster. Replica Pete Malloy (Adam-12) policeman badge as well. These were carried in this rig in the 1950s through the 60s, then LAPD cut these down to 4".

Very nice!!! All you need now is a set of Farrant Grips like Malloy had. The grips in the show were made by custom grip maker and LAPD Rangemaster Earl "Fuzzy" Farrant. I love those old K frame revolvers.

Kirk,

I've been in the market for Farrant grips for a while, unfortunately they've become a collectible item and around $500 for a set. If only I could order them directly for $25 and a trace of my hand!

So I added another S&W to my collection recently. This one needs no introduction other than, "do you feel lucky, punk?" Model 29-2, 6.5" barrel, .44 Mag., this one manufactured around 1976:

Was it ever fired? I know it is not uncommon to find them either unfired, or only a few rounds through them, because of all the hype about there alleged kick! I remember the first time I shot one, I was so nervous, thinking it was going to smack me in the face, to bad there's no video of me, must have been really funny to watch.

This one has been fired, there is plenty of wear on it to show that it wasn't a safe queen, but it seems like it has everything it came with. I intend to fire it plenty as well!
