same here too I am working on a project in which I have to analyze one of Hopper's painting

What a great thread! I change my desktop image every couple weeks or so--the non-vintage Stephen Colbert currently resides there. Colbert did a parody of the Good Night and Good Luck movie poster that's kind of vintage--I should change it to that picture.

Love all the Hopper images--he's fab.

Sorry guy's, I too was thinking along the lines of nice wooden desk, art deco pen holders etc. Old fart!

My computer usually has someone from the Irish rugby team on it.

There seems to be a lot of icons on most desktops! Am I the only one with one on there?

Likewise, mate! Got a vintage office of my own (Globe-Wernicke file cabinets and file boxes, rubber stamps, WWII era lamps, fountain pens, and a four foot long Zeppelin hanging under the ceiling fans) and thought "desk top" meant what's on your desk.

Hooray for Irish Rugby, too.

Everyone plays WoW. Except me.

And me--only game I play online's an old Microsoft space-sim called Freelancer--which I like to crack wise to the other guys on the server about, since research freelancing's what I actually call an "occupation"...

LOL, thanks! Well, let me just crown my nerdiness here by saying I just got into it an hour ago on WoW because I had some guy that killed my rogue 5 times about 3 weeks ago. I just spent the better part of an hour killing him, repeatedly, because he bothered me. I don't get mad, I get even.

But you're still not really "even", because you haven't tacked on the "interest" for the grief he caused--far better to get ahead: his head, metaphorically speaking, on a pike.

I take mine everywhere, and after a while I figure you'd start to feel those two extra inches.

Not so much if you're used to heavy loads, sir. Krueger's a 17" and goes literally everywhere with me.

Sabine and kpreed: Good taste in aircraft--although I'm personally partial to the Boeing over the Dornier, the entire era and concept of the flying-boat is fascinating...

Not truly vintage, but kinda "improvised", possibly "steampunkish"--it's the setup-screen background from Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. Any other C&C-geeks here?

Forgotten Man, if you really want that keyboard, Datamancer is the guy who builds them for folks. A word to the wise, though: they ain't cheap!

Alas, until I get some mad skillz or a bunch of cash, I'll have to settle for changing out my wallpaper every now and then, like everyone else. Here's my current desktop:
