Obtained from ebay for $30, thanks for asking. It's a lovely piece, and for some reason i really like the Joe Tanzer's shop tag logo. Very comfortable and breathable coat.

I picked up this odd duck today.

As you can see, it's a half belt with a flapped breast pocket, peak lapels and a single button fastening. Quite pinched at the waist. It was custom tailored by Nick DiToro in Davenport IA. It appears he is still in business, so I'm thinking it's not too old. Sadly I think there was probably a pair of pants with it that were no longer present at the thrift store. Seems to be fully canvassed.

If I saw you, I'd guess the jacket and trousers were straight out of the 30's. Is the jacket light enough to be viable for summer wear? This looks like a very 1930's summer ensemble to me. Great coat, though!

Thanks MondoFW. The pants are a pair of light cotton twill US Navy pants that I had just washed and was wondering if they would fit and how much I need to shorten them. Ha ha. The jacket fabric is fairly light, but it has a full lining and the canvassing, so in total it's not a real summer suit weight. Should be good in spring and autumn. The sleeves could use a little length I think. In any case, I was happy to find it.

I didn’t get it yet but another eBay B.B. 100% silk hopsack sportscoat. I wore the blue one last weekend on a nice spring day not sure what I will wear this one with

3-roll-2 (yellowish) ivory jacket made from the softest cotton I've ever felt.




Paired here with striped cotton shirt, red/yellow/green wool tie, green linen pocket square and lightweight flannel trousers (out of view: burgundy brogues)
