My camera upload cord has gone missing in the disaster that is my moving to a new place... so here's the stock photo of the latest jacket. 1950s, and flecked! It fits like a dream, although I'm not used to the more roomy style of the time period. Anyway.

Its funny the ticket pocket is actually a false one, its just the flap. I would unstitch it, but I don't want it to show.

No its very much a false pocket.

1940s suede leather leisure jacket I found today. Dual breast pockets! Has a plain back, great buttons and eyelets under the armpits. Has a pen mark on one of the lapels but the lining is perfect.

sadly not. I'd love a suede like that - especially a California Sportswear.

The one I do have from California Sportswear is in "Washable Goatskin" and is "Styled by Ronnie Reagan". Late 30s/early 40s. They did a bunch of "Styled By" movie tie-ins, including and Alan Ladd one.

Wonderful jackets Thunder and Baron. Does the pleated baby blue number also feature a haftbelted Back baron?

No it doesn't. I had expected to find that feature when I saw it on the rack, but no. it does have a teeny little centre vent at the rear hem.

Looking at my 1940 Mont. Ward magazine (that has quite a few of those pleated front jackets), around half of them are plain back while a few have shoulder gussets. Only a couple came with belted backs.
