Thanks man!
Thanks again! Good info and those things definitely make it all more appealing.BTW, just saw their post on FB. The leather is also FQHH from CF Stead and the collar is removable shearling
For those who ride, these jackets have velcro slots for skid plates. They hide the velcro nicely.
Whats the ETA on that jacket? Greg was mailing me some leather samples. I want a FL just dont know what design I'd go with. I really like yours and Marc's jackets.
Hmmm Greg didn't say but I'm thinking probably sometime in March-April. I'm going for a simple j24 no belt loop/epaulette and a clean back design. Do try to place an order soon to get in line and worry about the design later as the prices are the same apart from the one half belt. Thanks you, I am really liking simple designs that let the leather/pattern/stitchwork do the talking.
Nope. Been mentioned by @Marc mndt , myself, @TG3, and @Mich486 on the prior page. We all agreed the pattern looks great. The leather and collar look killer. But the D pocket sewing is off. The one thing this company has going for it though is that they consistently seem to get better and use better material. They also have one of the owners on TFL so I’m sure they are reading this. I hope they do fix this. And fix it quick because as I said looks like really good leather and a really great design. But that D pocket sewing is not going to cut it at these prices. Please forgive my message in advance, I mean to offend no one, but
what is thid "D-pocket"?
I'm a huge fan of D pocket jackets, and I have different models from different makers and eras.... So I'm always glad and curious when a european maker tries to re-introduce a Dpocket jacket.
Their model is clearly inspired by the Buco J82, which is a great jacket, and I think they nailed the pattern, but they really should take their time before releasing this jacket and learn how to properly sew a D Pocket, without those ugly wavy stitch tracks around it!
Am I the only one to notice this?
Especialy if they place their price high, this really should be impeccable.
also the belt passants are too small, it gives the jacket a "fashion" garment touch, in contradiction with the authenticity they want to evoque.
The angle of the pocket follows the main zipper, and and also gives an unbalanced look to the jacket (I guess they want to differe from the original Buco j82, but this is not working, in my opinion)
Sorry, I rarely post opinions like this, but dont get me wrong, I really appreciate Shangri Las productions, and I wish they develop as a reference maker. They seem full of good ideas and intentions, and deserve support.
That's why I react like this: they are so close to produce a great d pocket, but this one needs (and deserve) improvements.
Please Shangri Las, give us a great D Pocket jacket!
All the best
The pattern looks good!I do like the overall look. Leather looks nice too.
Too bad the D pocket has al this puckering going on. Looks a bit sloppy.

Sorry I didn't read that part, my mistake ;-)Nope. Been mentioned by @Marc mndt , myself, @TG3, and @Mich486 on the prior page. We all agreed the pattern looks great. No worries! Lots going on. I often forget where I read something. Was it “cool photos, or how many jackets, or finds and deals etc..” haha. But yeah totally agree. Like a really good pattern and looks like good leather. The other stuff they have to offer looks pretty good. But when you’re charging what they charge that’s unacceptable stitching. So I hope their one owner who’s on here reads this and applies it. Because we’re not trying to be jerks. We’re not trashing the product. There is a lot to like. Basically all the rest of this looks great! Just some friendly advice.Sorry I didn't read that part, my mistake ;-)
Their product does look promising. I'm thinking about making a stop at their workshop to see and assess their product in real life when I'm visiting Italy this summer. Please do give a full review of the shop, product, and customer service if you do make it out there. Being in the US I highly doubt I’ll ever get there; well, at least not any time soon.Their product does look promising. Heddels have an article on the Shangri-La Western jacket.

Thank you for taking the critique in stride and listening. You could have gotten pissed off or told us we were wrong. But you didn’t. Everything else about this pattern looks really good. So does the leather. If you nail down the stitching this will be killer! I would love it in a teacore leather. Do you currently or have you ever considered carrying a teacore leather? Thanks for being available, and once again thanks for listening.Hi guys!
Thanks for starting this thread and sorry for the late reply, these are kind of busy days as we're finishing the photo shoots.
The feedback about the D pocket sewing of the "Chiodo" Horsehide Jackets is very appreciated, I already spoke to the workshop in order to fix this puckering problem before going into production which will start at the end of the month.
As Tray said, the new jackets will be available on our website in mid April. We have a couple more jackets to reveal
