Hello all,

Here is a link to a video clip of noted wildlife photographer Moose Peterson's recent foray into A2A (Air to Air) photography. The video (about 14 minutes) shows him and his class photographing the CAF B-17 Sentimental Journey in flight in Arizona. Also there are a couple Mustangs and a Spitfire (though the main focus was on the B-17 and no close-up of the Spitfire).

If you don't know anything about photography just ignore the comments on the screen. They shoot from a skydiving plane to get a great unobstructed view. I hope that this is the right forum (I picked it because I figured that the WWII aircraft fit in with the theme of the forum). There are also some other pics of the B-17 and the B-29 FiFi here:

and continue on to the next page for a couple pics of the Spit and Mustangs plus other planes. Enjoy.

It's too bad the Arizona CAF at Falcon are so self centered. They have tons of oppertunities to expand with programs and such but they really have "tunnel vision:.

My best air to air shot of a B-17. Taken between Eagle and Aspen Colorado from the navigator random on a PV2D Harpoon!

CAF was organized with far less politicking before the changeover from Confederate to Commemorative. The Collings Foundation and CAF are the only operators of 17's you can actually fly in

AND BOT have a B-24. And we get to "play" with the Collings 24. We have no issues at all with the Collings people, they are great, AND the CAF group from Midland are great too, I just have issues with the Mesa wing, and it's not all the folks their only the PR guy and a few others.

That video is really as close as you could ever get to the real experience of being up in an old prop plane like that. Reminds me of my flight in a C-47 around Kilauea Crater many years ago. Very very very very cool. Thanks for posting.

Hi Stearman,

Thanks for posting that great picture. I'm hoping that one of these days I will have the money to buy a ride at an airshow on a B-17 or B-25. So for now, watching videos and looking at pictures will have to do ....

That is amazing footage. What an oppurtunity. I would love to be on the photo plane, sitting on the ramp, very cool. My favorite personal A2A is my avatar. in a KC-135 over Germany during an IFR mission with my F-4(68-404). Have a few with Bitburgs F-15s too.
