My new brown 618 is breaking in great! Getting more range of motion all around, and the jacket "lays" a bit better on my body now... not as rigid as it was. Still a ways to go with the break in... but it's feeling better every time I put it on. I'll send pics soon. ; )Just received my 2016 Made Schott Style 618 in Dark Brown Leather. I have owned the same jacket a few years ago but sold it was too small. This one is larger a size 52.
Really nice like new condition with no scratches or wear. It was a little dry in spots don’t know if previous owner got it wet so I very lightly used my Pecard Brown Leather Conditioner. Did a Great Job. I usually use Bick 4 but decided on the Pecards.
The only thing is I wish the belt buckle side had the snap to hold onto the jacket like my Style 626. Think I might send to Jerri over at Schott Repair Dept. I have sent other jackets to them with perfect results.
They used to sell Schott leathers in several army navy and jeans stores back in the day in that areaHi Rob
I
I live on Staten Island. I guess you’re in New Jersy. I don’t ride a motorcycle but have been a big Fan of Schott. I am 66 now and when I was like 15 went to Delancy Street in NYC and bought a Bomber jacket. It was like $100.00. Delancy Street was Leather Heaven. I still have it today. Now that leather they were able to source is So Thick has to be double the thickness of my newer Bomber Jacket. So happy you bought the Brown 618. I’m sure it will fit.
Sometimes you can find cheap or damaged jacket just for the mouton collar but make sure you check the size and snapsThanks!... it's nice to hear folks providing good info/input, and compliments here in the Fedora Lounge! I did see the collars online... something I'll consider for the cold weather for sure. If you don't mind, send a pic when your collar arrives! Thanks for the note Madhouse27!

Hey Peter...hope all is well. Know anywhere that can put stars on the 618 I have? Schott will take a little too long... like 4 weeks. Any ideas? Hi. Sorry I do not. Any Work I need done Jerri always helps me with it. I sent my 618 for belt snap button and she did it in one day. She said it was a simple job. Butting your Stars on is Simple put I would not do it myself. They have the right tools and know the right location. Maybe she can do a fast turn around for you. Good luck keep me posted.Hey Peter...hope all is well. Know anywhere that can put stars on the 618 I have? Schott will take a little too long... like 4 weeks. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hey Peter... Jerri is actually out of the office until next week. Another rep "Denise" answered my questions, and said I can probably take it to a shoe repair shop if I don't have Schott do it. Normally, I'd want Schott to do ANY work on that jacket...but 4 weeks?? Maybe I'll wait until Jerri gets back and see if she can pull some strings. They're sending me the GOLD stars free of charge... but I'm very nervous to have a cobbler to the job. So... I may end up waiting until Jerri gets back so I can inquire.Hi. Sorry I do not. Just got the stars from Schott...very fast delivery. Took only 2 days to receive the complimentary gold stars. On the fence if I should carefully apply them myself or just send to Schott.Installing domes/stars isn't a particularly specialist task; it's just about pressing them through and folding the tips.
See this thread for an example.
