I like most things I see in this thread. But sometimes I wonder: What is so special about this? The shorts have a nice fabric and a buckle. But other than that... what do you like about them? The shape of the back pockets? The buttons?

(this is not a trick question. I just want to know)

It's probably a matter of taste, but I don't like the shorts at all.. I look ridiculous in shorts anyway..

I've seen them in person and I liked them. The salt and pepper material is really cool, and I like the buckle back. I'm not a shorts guy really at all and I'd wear these. But like I said, they'd be cooler as pants!

Bought this jacket a Daffy's of all places..
The flash washed out the color but it's a dark indigo.

80 bucks.
They also had a couple of fantastic Woolrich Woolen Mills pieces. A jacket and vest to be specific. The jacket was too small and the vest too large.

What kind of buttons would you use for custom made chipstrap work shirt? I searched for cat eye buttons and found some that look nice. But they are made of normal plastic. Were vintage buttons out of bacelite, mother of pearl, ivory nut or something else?

The shirt already has a fantastic curved collar and asymetrical pockets which I drew on paper before the seamstress made the pattern. I will soon post pictures.

Hey! I did make that belt for him....he's a stellar musician and a great guy to boot! Glad you got to catch his act.

Visited "Tarshay" this evening to pick up some general household items and decided to check out the shirt. Marc is right, it looks better and fits better than the Gap...and the price isn't half bad. There are also some vintage-style S&P sweatshirts for about the same price point. You can't tell by the photo, but the shawl collar has leather vintage-style woven buttons.

The Small shawl was a good vintage size 38 fit, but the length was a deal breaker. The Small sweat shirt was more like a medium.
