Got this from @jpk_NJ who has been great to deal with, Thanks again! :D

I now get the love for Vanson, although they still seem under-represented here. There is something really solid about their craftsmanship, when you hold it, you know that it is a serious piece of kit.

It is my first Vanson, I couldn't resist that special Chopper. It is a bit tight on me, but it still works for me. What do you think?

Awsome jacket. I sold it to jpkn NJ because it was to small on me, it made me order a custom one from vanson. It's a crazy cool jacket an the pattern is straight up comfortable. Im still waiting on my custom chopper by the way. I ordered it in January, official date in computer is feb 11th for some reason. I actually purchased from leftfields owner because vanson is using cxl leftover from the commando gold run. Great jacket you have, Paul cox

Did you ask for any special custom mods? Or just a regular CXL Chopper?
I really look forward to seeing that!

Can't say I am surprised you ordered one! Really curious to see how it comes out!

I am now thinking that a red version would be really cool lol

I really like the detail, as well, it is one of the features that made me jump for it. Interestingly, I think it works, because their pattern is really well balanced. I do not think that many other makers could pull off these details tastefully.

Badass jacket! Seriously, you pull it off even better than me! Post an update after that stiff x150 hide is fully broken in and soft like Jmaxs. But I could tell that ones going to need a heavy beating to give !

It has already been 3 years since the last post... time flies

Resurrecting this thread with red leather trousers seems valid enough lol

While it may sound outrageous as an idea, I found that they are easier to match than I thought… Or maybe it is just me?

Edit: Forgot to mention that the maker kept them straight as a first step, he is happy to take them in wherever I want to. Not sure what to do yet. Any thoughts?

I think the fit works well as is, I wouldn’t get them altered. Both pairs of aero steer hide leather jeans I have (thanks to a member here - Monitor - for them both!) are straight leg as are the (probably also aero made) Sam Walker horsehide jeans I also own.

One pair of steerhide are a bit trimmer cut than the other pair and the horsehide pair. They arguably look the best, but in terms of comfort and wearability the others pairs are superior. And all 3 pairs were second hand to me so somewhat broken in already. And as the jeans break in and mould to you further they just get better and better in both looks and comfort. The horsehide pair in particular are like lounge pants once warmed by body heat!

The only tight leather jeans I own are armoured ones for moto riding. The snug fit is important for crash protection and for fitting inside moto boots. They are comfy for riding in as they are cut for the riding stance and have concertina stretch panels above the knees and upper back and aramid areas (rather than leather) behind the knees (and in one pair round the groin) to further help comfort. But I wouldn’t want to wear them off the moto all day, like I easily can with my casual leather jeans.

Styling wise I tend to avoid wearing double leather, moto riding aside. As leather jeans can be quite full on I typically pair with heavy engineer boots, thick plaid shirts, jumpers etc and my (non-leather) trench-coats if it’s gonna rain (leather pants are great for rainy weather imo).

But of course that’s a personal preference (I also tend to avoid double denim, which is of course widely worn). And like Ton I’m an admirer of bold styling choices, so great to see you rocking these strong looks. FWIW, imo I think the pants work especially well with the brown jackets, in particular the big W collar one, that’s a wonderful autumn look that looks great on you.

Fantastic!

I have a pair of leather jeans that I've never worn in anger. And mine are a mid-blue.

If you can rock red, I don't know what I'm afraid of.
