A legendary piece with no introduction needed. This brand-new Real McCoy’s Buco J-24 jacket (size 42, fits like a standard Medium) was imported from Japan and purchased directly from The Real McCoy’s store in London. Tags are misplaced, but the jacket remains unworn and pristine.

Originally developed in 1953, the J-24 is one of the most iconic double-rider motorcycle jackets, cementing Buco’s place in history alongside the J-100. The D-pocket design, classic silhouette, and meticulous craftsmanship make this a grail for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Crafted from tea-core vegetable-tanned horsehide, this jacket features The Real McCoy’s "Rich Water Resistant Black Finish," a nod to vintage Buco catalogs. While not as water-resistant as Buco once claimed, the patina and aging process surpass anything modern leather can achieve.

Inside, the custom quilted nylon lining is designed to fade and discolor over time, just like the originals—adding authenticity to the vintage-inspired construction.

A true piece of history, built to age beautifully.

Asking $2100 plus shipping.

So their size 42 measures 40” around the chest? That’s surprising to me. Thanks for including the measurements. .

The old cut Buco (BJ9111) was reverse vanity sized and was cut very slim.

Their newer model (BJ21101)is sized more traditionally with a fuller cut pattern.

Both are great, just very different.

Oddly enough, OP’s pictures look like the new model, to my eye, but he gave the measurements to the older one.

Is there any definitive way to visually identify one versus the other?

If OP says it's like new and bought directly from RMC than I would think it's the new cut, since that's been what they've sold since 2021.

Yes, on the new fit (BJ21101) the belt loop on the left side overlaps the D pocket, where on the old fit (BJ9111) it does not.

unfortunately, you can’t see that in OP’s pictures.

Honestly though, it’s the sleeves that make me think that OP jacket is the new cut. They’re a lot fuller on the new version and come taper a bit to the wrist, where on the old cut they’re much slimmer through out.
