Quest for dark burgundy/brandy leather jacket

Hi everyone - I’ve been reading and researching on TFL for a few months now and appreciate everything I’ve learned from all of you! This is my first proper post, and it’s something of an extension of this thread: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...ackets-what-do-you-really-think.106445/page-3

I recently tried on a Schott 557 in pull-up cowhide in what they call burgundy/brandy, and fell in love with the leather and the color. It’s got a nice soft and supple feel, while still heavy, and I love the deep purple/brown color with a pinkish kind of pull-up, and the fact that it's not shiny. Subtle but beautiful. The jacket didn’t quite fit and Schott is no longer doing custom work, nor can I get my hands on the leather through them.

So my question for you all is: do you know of any other jackets in this color? It seems to be darker than a lot of the cordovan-colored jackets I’ve seen anywhere (including related colors like oxblood, burgundy, brandy, etc.), though a couple in that other TFL Cordovan jacket post came close. It seems to be in the realm of how Horween no. 8 is described in this article (https://www.heddels.com/2020/02/colors-shell-cordovan-rainbow/), but if Aero uses Horween no. 8 for most of it's CXL Cordovan jackets, then the end result seems to generally be redder and lighter than the Schott. I've posted some pics of the Schott 557 for reference.

Thanks for your help all!

What Aero calls "cordovan CXL" is Color 8.

What is the most versatile/ best leather jacket color I can buy, that will go with both black and brown belt combinations??

I own a halfbelt in that reddish color in CRXL HH from AERO (see comparison with black - same material - same manufacturer)

see the effects of different light ...

i take care shoes 'n belts match but not that much about the jacket

if you want a versatile color for your jacket i'd go with "SEAL" (the color of G1 jackets) - it ain't black but also not brown so something inbetween - i combine it with either black or brown accessories

Thanks @3.14nche , @MrProper and @4444Design for the photos of your jackets in different lighting. It makes such a difference! I agree with @TartuWolf that the cloudy/rainy day version is my favorite, and close to what I am going for. I live in Colorado (US) which is pretty sunny, so I might be in the more cherry/bright red zone most of the time.

Can anyone speak to how Aero's Tobacco Badalassi compares to their cordovan colors? Also, do Aero's CXL cordovan and Vicenza cordovan look pretty much the same, or do the different leather types change how the color appears?

Unfortunately, I can't come up with Tobacco. I would have gone for this if Chestnut Badalassi hadn't come into play at that exact moment.
Perhaps the two-tone brown from rugged west is also something for you? It's not a Badalassi or CXL, but it's thick and heavy and not too stiff.
