Alright, thanks! I watched your YouTube vid multiple times, how’s your baladassi doing? And to confirm it is cowhide right? I already have a buffalo leather, I’m getting a black teacore horsehide, and now I’m thinkibg maybe I should get cowhide for my third? But I have/had so many cowhide leathers it seems boring. But I never had a baladassi or even tried one on. Is the squeaking that bad?

His cowhide is incredible. My backpack is made out of it and it’s really awesome stuff, and I’ve seen a lot of jackets made from his cowhide too. He genuinely has some really nice hides. His deer and goat are particularly amazing as well, and honestly those are probably what I’d recommend the most. I definitely want to get a jacket made out of one of those from him eventually.

My Badalassi jacket from Theodoros doesn’t squeak at all. I don’t know if that’s because of the wash treatment he does or maybe because he’s not using the Lux Badalassi similar to Greg Field.

His selection of hides is outstanding. Every leather I have seen is unique in its own way and you can tell by his design and leather choices he has a strong artistic approach to every jacket he makes, every piece I have seen looks like a one-off. I wouldn't bother or question too much where he sources from, whichever hide you pick with him, it will look great regardless of origin.

The tamponato deerskin swatch I had received was amazing beyond words and I decided to order my carcoat on this leather. I was probably really unlucky but what I received was quite different- for the worse.

Long story short: Aero leathers have a 'blue' line where they make jackets from left over batches and sell them at reduced prices. This is what I got from Thedi, however without knowing it and paying full price for it.

The coat is made from three different batches- none of them as nice as the sample I received. I wouldn't mind panels with different grain however:

a) there is a visible difference in shade, recently a colleague asked me if I deliberately bought this as a two-tone;
b) there are areas where the hide feels dried out;
c) when I pay that much for a coat (back at that time 70% more than an Aero) then I would expect that I would be informed about using leftovers.

Don't get me wrong. The fit, seams, details, etc are miles ahead of any other jacket I own. I was probably really unlucky.
Would I order again from them? Never say never, but probably no.

Don't get me wrong. It is a great coat. But I don't think I would order a custom jacket from them again .

I ordered the coat in April 2024 and received it 7 months later, in November. When I received it I did not contact them (though with hindsight I should have done so) mainly for 2 reasons:

1) I was caught in the Thedi hype: he makes amazing jackets, everyone praises him, his patterns are indeed amazing, I paid really a lot so obviously there shouldn't be an issue with the jacket, I convinced myself that it is ok and I am only exaggerating;
2) and more seriously: back at that time I was caught in the perfect storm: my wife's troubled and stressful pregnancy, trying to find and finance a new house (just google dutch housing market 2025 to see what I am talking about), trying to sell my appartment... and all this combined with increased responsibilities at work due to a promotion. The last thing I would honestly spend any thought, time or effort would be a jacket.

How did you walk out of there without buying this perfectly fitting Thedi!?

New and just want to share my experience because I wouldn't have pulled trigger without reading all the posts here.

I reached out to Theodoros early February for a MTC-127920 jacket.
Initially, he recommended cowhide and aniline dyed horsehide, but I had my eye on the black teacore washed horsehide that I saw posted here.

Slight adjustments requested to remove one of the front pocket and sent payment 2/6/2026.
Total cost: €2,045.00 EUR

Followed up Theodoros once a month and finally got the jacket 6/6/2026. So 4 months.
Really happy with the way the jacket came out, Thedi does amazing work

Such a great jacket! I’m happy for you.

Though I’m a bit perplexed and will admit frustrated. I visited him in person last September and finalized order details at the beginning of October, but have still not received my jacket.

I checked in with him once a few months ago and he said I would have it for spring, but it’s now summer so that’s not happening. I don’t want to annoy him, but should I be emailing him monthly? I’ve ordered jackets from him before and not had this problem.
