Hey, im in the process of ordering a custom idas, but i just saw the first jacket you posted in burgandy with the two chest button pockets and think you changed my mind!

I’m now considering this jacket with slight alterations, namely hand warmer pockets in the sides, no button on the bottom and wool lining. Do you ever wish you had side pockets on the jacket? Thanks!

I never wished for hand warmers but if you want them I don’t see why not. I think it would make a nice addition. I would advise against a wool lining though. That’s purely subjective but I feel a wool lining makes a jacket too warm in warmer weather and not warm enough in cold weather. Better to layer to stay warm.

Thanks for that, I was also considering the removable shearling but I thought that would make the jacket look too puffy, and without the shearling, I wouldn’t get the slim fit I want. Quite the dilemma lol. But thanks for the input!

Began the process of ordering a custom Thedi from Thurston Bros. This is the fit jacket they sent me. I think it’s too big. But I have a few questions if you guys can help.
1.) Origibally planned on ordering an Idas from Thurston bros, but can I order styles from the Thedi site? I really like the cognac trucker jacket.
2.) opinions on fit of the jacket, does it look large? I’m just wearing a t shirt.
3.) These are my two brown jackets I matched the swatches to. A Schott 594 and a Vanson Oxford in dark maple bainbridge. I was hoping for brown reddish leather but that swatch was not sent. The colors I like right now are cognac buffalo and undyed horsies bruciato. What are your opinions? I know I can’t go wrong with either. Thanks

I skipped thurston and went through thedi directly. He was very precise in the measurements he needed me to take and felt confident he would get the fit right.

I think your fit size looks good if you choose to layer. Sleeves are a bit long, maybe a full inch if i had to guess - shoulders look good.

Heads up for anyone ordering directly from Thedi in the US. My jacket got held up by FedEx in Memphis for 5 days due to a customs clearance issue. Apparently you need to provide an "importer identify" (such as SSN, EIN, etc). FedEx will ask you to fill out form 5106.

However, I had to call to find this out after not hearing anything regarding the clearance issue for a day. Then, they said a DocuSign would be sent by email for me to fill out and sign. Another day goes by and no email, so I just looked up the form online, filled it out, and sent it to FedEx with my tracking number. Another 2 days go by with no movement so I call again. This time the rep asked me what kind of leather the jacket was made of, so I told him Buffalo. Apparently buffalo/bison is on some kind of list so he said he had to notify the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife for processing the shipment.

I began to fear my jacket might be seized, but it ended up clearing the next day. This is my 3rd direct order from Thedi, but the first time this issue has come up.

I don’t think it looks too big over shoulders or chest but it is waaaaay too long and the sleeves as well are.

Looks a little large unless, like the previous posters said, you want to layer.

definitely long in the arms and, to my taste, throughout chest and shoulders.

My Thedi fits much slimmer but still allows great range of motion.

Carrie can help you tune this up a touch. However, given the very obvious presence of young kids in your home, you will likely be putting on a bit of weight over the next few years!
