My Evander took a bit longer. Order placed March 9, 2024 and arrived January 4, 2025 or 301 calendar days.
The jacket is wonderful! Without hesitation, I immediately ordered a Memphis, and expect to see it late fall 2025.
Did he quote you 60 days as well?

Looks like he’s doing a show in China next week.

I received an email from Theodoros today saying my jacket was completed. The order was invoiced on February 5 so just about 60 days for completion.

I've had a couple of jackets made by Thedi and this one was the fastest - the others were closer to 90ish days.

Question for the people that have experience with https://thedi-leathers.com/product/mtc-127915/ / Hektor:

How is the mobility on the back? Is the middle seam important for functionality or mostly decorative? Would swapping it out for a "cleaner" back such as this one be really impactful (imagining that the half belt is kept in)?

I have a Hektor that fits perfectly. It is one of Thedi's secret to make a jacket that fits and feels tight but allows great movement. While ordering the jacket, I asked Theodoros what the purpose of the center seam was. He answered it was designed for fit, adding it was not a straight line. This topic was discussed in detail before, if I can find it I'll post the link, but it amounts to building a pattern that follows the curve of the back. In other words, it's not flat. So I wouldn't ask to simplify the pattern. it's perfect the way it is.

Is the inner lining pleated like this hunting jacket. Matching the pleated leather. It comes in handy during overhead shots on wood ducks.

Hey everyone!

A bit late as now warmer days are upon us but I've gotten my B3, which I'm sure many of you will see it and think "welp, fashion jacket" but hey, it's how I wanted it :) I dislike the exposed shearling in cuffs and hem and I know my mind would perennially fear I'm getting them dirty in the classic look. For anyone interested in the timelines, I paid on November 28th and received it on March 6th, so almost a month ago.

My expectation was opening the package and being blown away by a golden light, as if I was opening the briefcase from Pulp Fiction. Instead I opened it, I put it on over the old clothes I use to work from home and I was honestly a bit underwhelmed. It was nice, good quality but still I was underwhelmed... But this is usually what happens when I get a "grail", so I gave it a bit, worked a few more hours that day, I noticed I was about to fall asleep and decided to go to for a coffee outside giving it the first wear. I often do this dressed in a tracksuit and looking homeless, but this time I had the decency of at least putting on jeans. What a difference! It did look great and fantastic, I could feel and tell the quality, it felt light on my shoulders, comfortable off the bat. I think the waist cinches are going to be helpful depending on whether I layer or not underneath, keeping them at minimum if I just wear a tshirt underneath (as I did the few days I could wear it) or opening them when wearing a sweater. I sent pictures to my mother, who was a fur seamstress and she quite liked the measurements as she was sceptical with me having taken them. I was worried with the measurements as well, which I might have overthought (and I probably made Theodoros miserable with a trillion stupid questions around them), but I had ultimately trusted how other reviewers were completely satisfied with the end result except for some I would deem as outliers.

As we're all nerds here, I asked him for the details on the leather, which is UK domestic sheep, 17-18mm thick, processed in an Italian tannery. I wanted handwarmer pockets and I didn't want the chest badge in the original design in the Thedi website. I do admit that I had missed the flaps on each shoulder and I would had asked for them to not be present due to aesthetics, but I kinda like them now as I see them as a unique detail that I don't see in other shearlings (including the faux ones), plus they seem to have the function of avoiding a backpack from sliding off the shoulders, which is helpful.

Now some time has passed, every time I see it while at home I'm blown away by how good it looks and extremely happy of my purchase. Even one of my best friends, who always trolls me about any purchase I make, couldn't help go "holy shit" right as he picked it up! Another thing I particularly like is that it doesn't stand out much: I'm sure anyone into leather jackets will see it from a mile away and tell right away its value, but there's so many frankenB3 cheapo variations going around that most people would just overlook it as one more.

I'm almost wishing for colder weather to spend more time in it and be able to write more about it, but it seems it'll take a few months for that now!

I'll upload more pics later/tomorrow :D The package IIRC was registered as 3.5kg (max weight I imagine) and I don't recall exactly how much it was when I weighed the jacket (aka me vs me wearing it) but it was below 2kg.

The back is in two pieces, vertically separated, as Theodoros didn't have any hide large enough to cover my whole back in a single piece. I don't like the typical B3 back with 4 pieces, sewn together kinda as in a cross or a target sign, so I asked specifically against it.
