J. Hückel´s Söhne "Elastic", 57.5 cm, 118 grams. possibly mid 1920s to early 1930s. This is a Ladies Stiff Felt Riding Hat but since it's a JHS + very unique I decided to pick it up. It appears to be entirely original and in NOS condition. The Black smooth finished Felt is the same as a Men's JHS "Elastic" Stiff Felt. The 4.5 cm Brim is not curled and has downward flange with a thin Binding. The Grosgrain Sweatband with padded which is stitched in with a X pattern. The Bow is on the left side like Men's Hats. There is also has a long fabric Strap which you see on some Ladies Hats. I couldn't find a paper label so maybe this was custom made by JHS. Definitely a very unique piece for my museum. :)

I don't care if it is a lady's hat, that is a very nice find indeed, Steve.

I have a good number of "Bantam" produced by the Cappellificio Cervo in my collection and every time I find one I think if I can put it in the list of those present.

As the decades have passed I've learned that my tastes in clothing are generally rather conservative, but that hat is spectacular! My congratulations on what will surely be a wonderful and fun addition to your collection!

LOL. I thought you pre-dated him by aa few years.
I lurked for a couple years accumulating most of my hats before i was bold enough to enter the Lounge. I kinda wanted to get a handle on all the characters so as not to be a dumbass thinking i knew one darn thing. (Jury‘s out)
Having something worth talking about is always nice to see with a newby.

I belly laughed many a time at the banter back then and you, Moon and of course the King @Bob Roberts kept the place rolling.
There was great discussion, good hearted ribbing and some serious word wars when a dumbass got called out.
Things changed after Bob’s exile followed by others.
I hope you are well Jim.

Fat and sassy and hard to diaper, as always. Hope you're doing well, too.

Man, that was incredible, Max! It even won my wife over. Can’t say I’m much of a lounge around the pool type, but I might make an exception there.
There are many things to do here, Brent! In the old days sailfish were so plentiful that if you didn't catch at least one, you would get your money back. There are still a lot of them, though.
There are a couple of freshwater lagoons for skiing, jet skiing, etc.
There is

Better be careful, Max. I might not want to move out once I’m there. :)
It truly does sound wonderful.
