This Panizza is, for me, a rarity
View attachment 362398
The reason is that I have never found a hat from the house on Lake Maggiore marked "Marca Oro"
View attachment 362399
It is a hat from the magnificent part of the Panizza production that was affected more than the other producers in the 1970s by the end of the golden years of Italian hats
View attachment 362404
This has a great felt called "Edelweis" as color on the paper label which has very little to do with the actual color of the felt
View attachment 362405
What is great is the ribbon made of the same carved felt as specified on the paper label.
Felt has this hardly yieldable color due to its continuous change in the light of the pale and sunny yellow September.
View attachment 362406
In the photographs, almost all of them, it is very close to its exact shade which is a brown that goes towards an intense yellow.
View attachment 362409 The measurements are as follows: the brims with a with a tiny seam are at 6 centimeters, the ribbon is the same color as the felt and the crown at its lowest point is 10.5 centimeters.

The "Marca Oro" has been magically preserved
That is beautiful Daniele

As per usual, that Borsalino is just about perfect, but the crown height and the color of the Dobbs is just fantastic!

Ten times?….lightweight. :)

Not sure what to do with this. I had some plans, but it’s smaller than what the seller’s measurements led me to believe:

If you got it cheap enough I'd cut off the brim and make a duplex. Either that or curl the brim and give it a safari look. But I would leave the crown shape as it is.

An interesting combination of details, for certain.

Here’s one I haven’t seen before. It’s a nice Stetson The Sovereign Twenty suede finish in an ice blue color that I love. The felt it soft and easily dry creases. The open crown is approximately 5 1/2 inches and the brim is 2 5/8 inches. It has a braided self-felt band that I haven’t seen on a Twenty before. It also has a new-to-me brim edge treatment. It isn’t the expected felted (Cavanagh/Mode) edge: the edge is capped in a matching piece of felt which gives it an overwelt and underwelt look. The seam of the cap is at the back of the hat and not overly obvious. If anyone has information on this hat I’d enjoy learning.

St. Veit (Sankt Veit), 58 cm, Wool Felt, possibly early 1930s. There isn't a company mark but the paper label has a Sheep with a St. Veit Banner. Sankt Veit an der Glan Schafrasse is a small town in the South East corner of Austria and I couldn't find any Felt Hat production in the town. My guess is this is the source of the Wool used for the Felt. The Stiff Felt Hat was sold by a shop (Ludovikus Hagens Wwe) in a small town (Lustenau, Vorarlberg) in the upper North West corner of Austria. The Wool Felt has a nice finish and is in very good condition. The Stiff Felt has great looking Silver Gray Liner with a sharp looking Bow design.
