Here is my new hat, I know almost nothing about it, other than it looked interesting and was cheap on ebay. It is a Churchill Woodside in canyon. I gave a quick cleaning and brush it out then spent some time cleaning the human slime off the hatband. It came out pretty decent so far, I may try my hand at repairing the moth chew on the crown and I think the brim needs a little stiffener.

Nice. Churchill was one of the brands in the Byer-Rolnick stable (best known for Resistol). Churchill was once the prestige brand and some great hats have worn that brand. Later hats, like with most all brands, became lower quality.

This is a Stetson St. Regis that was languishing on EBay. I’d always been curious about converting a homburg to a fedora. A super talented friend of mine took this on and it turned out beautifully. It really has a Whippet feel and the dimensions are perfect—5 1/2 open crown and 2 1/2 brim. This one is going to get a ton of head time—it’s super comfortable and because it’s a conversion I feel less precious about it than I would a vintage whippet....
That's fantastic! Any pics from before the transformation?

I don't know anything about Poulton's hats, and honestly I don't care for black hats much, but I could tell this one was an old one, and since it fit and was ridiculously inexpensive I grabbed it. The sweat was padded with the piece of newspaper from 1934. There was enough in there to choke it down a couple of sizes, so I imagine somebody picked this up second hand during the depression and loaded it in there to make it fit. If anyone has any info on this brand, I'd sure be appreciative of it.

What a fantastic hat, love the colors. I can’t wait to see some sunny day pictures too. It looks right at home on you as well. Great get.
Absolutely beautiful hat! Looks great on you. I love this color combo. I have a few now that are black with that sort of black cherry binding. I’d love to see this one in the sun to see if you can capture more of the blue.
Here’s the hat in the sunlight.
