Nice bash.Just shy of 4 months to wait for my taupe Akubra CD!

Putting in on after such a long wait was akin to a religous experience.

The HDR effect makes it more defined than it looks to the eye. Its just a quick dry bash but I think I will fire up the steamer and try to set it more defined like the pic above.Nice bash.

Good plan, Scooterz. That bash looks cool on your Acubra. The HDR effect makes it more defined than it looks to the eye. Its just a quick dry bash but I think I will fire up the steamer and try to set it more defined like the pic above.

No... I just buy them, especially when they seem old, but I don't read a lot about 'em. One thing I do know is how difficult they are to find. C&Ks are hard to find, so I guess they're old. I have also gotten good at knowing which felts are good. This hat's felt is good. A lot like a Cross Country's.Very nice.
Any idea of the age ?
Very nice hat. She has good taste and she probably knows you couldn't refuse, DougDaughter sent me a pic of this hat, so I drove over to the shop and checked it out. Sent pics to a FL buddy but no response. So I sent an email to the shop owner asking if they'd consider a lower offer. They accepted so I bought it for daughter and had her drive over after school today to pick up her new hat.
From what I can tell, a 1940s Penneys Marathon in excellent condition. She loves it.

It is a very good looking hat, Steve. Great find. Blue homburgs: can't go wrong with them.Mayser "Supra", measures 58.5 cm possibly originally early 1950s or older. The sweatband was replaced a while ago and I am not sure about the ribbon bow. I couldn't find any paper label and the store comes up blank on searches. The dark blue felt is fantastic and I really like the form. It's actually a really great looking hat.
Open Crown
Seems the bug has gotten hold in a big way. As far as addictions go this one of the better ones to have. Cool colours on those hats. The addiction is real. Just added a Moonstone Akubra Stylemaster to the herd. [emoji106][emoji41][emoji145]. Moonstone, Acorn Fawn and Carbon Grey.

She does know how to model those hats, Georg. Great pics. How come she doesn't want the hats? Takes after her mother maybe?German (maybe Wegener) Resistol, Majestic-12, kitten finish President, in bluepearl.
Size 56 cm (US 7), possibly 1950-60s.
Too small for me and my daughter doesn't want it; so it's up for SALE or TRADE.
If interested, send me a message.
(I'll be in USA from October 23rd to 28th; so hat could ship from Arlington, Virginia, if I know prior to departure)

Love the Martin!!First one of several (finally there was a dry hour so I could take some pics). First one.
Borsalino faunosca 39 in the colour china. Martora felt. This was the one that I traded with @dkstott and for which I'm very very grateful to him. Raw edge brim at almost 7cm and crown 11cm at the center dent. It's a beauty.

Huber Velvet in grey. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown 10cm at the center dent. It insisted on this teardrop crown, so I left it there. Very nice hat actually with high quality finishing. Too roomy for me unfortunately (sometimes these 57 sized hats fit me). From Steve's website I found that Aurel Huber was mainly a straw hat manufacturer, but did felts as well. Very well I'd say.
Martora felts are nice and thin. Beautiful color, Esteban.First one of several (finally there was a dry hour so I could take some pics). First one.

This was kind of a cool find. Not perfect, but still.
Hückel Alpha in a size 58. Lovely grey/silver velour hat with the raw edge brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. The hand of the felt is just awesome. It has lost its liner somewhere along its history, the ribbon has some markts and the reed has come through in the front, but the sweatband is still supple (I did treat it with some conditioner though). Doesn't take away from the quality and it's all minor as soon as you touch that felt. Sonderanfertigung (specially made for) for Carl Zeumer. Sweatband mentions Pfau-Feinhaar (meaning Peacock finehair). Don't know what that refers to.
