I can understand that, Stefan. However, the grey Stanton I purchased from you and this one from Manfred have a solid quality about them. They have the look, the shape, the colour. Not top notch, but very respectable. Something you'd expect I guess from Tonak.

And ja, you can't beat blue.

It is true that they did in fact make very good hats under that brand name. Found one only yesterday in fact that was really very good (and tempting), but it was another black homburg of which by last count I already own 20.

VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben Luxus in dark blue. No label inside the hat, but either a 56 or a 57 because it fits me very well. Brim at 6cm and crown 10cm at the center dent and it weighs 148 grams. These VEB hats aren't always of the best quality, but this one has an excellent hand to the felt. Did I mention it is blue?

Peschel in sämisch quality in a size 55. It just needed a little nudge to fit me. I left this hat behind in the store two times before, but this time around its number was up. Brim at a good 6cm and crown 10cm at the center dent (which it doesn't have, but you know what I mean). It actually wouldn't take a center dent, so I ended up with this crease. The hand of the chamois felt is outstanding. I needed another, because my other Peschel ended up in Copenhagen.

There's just something about the look of a Peschel that says special. Love the colour and pug type ribbon on that one, Stefan. Glad to hear you could tweak it a bit to fit.
Btw, the Copenhagen Peschel is happy in its new home.
