memphislawyer,
both are Outstanding !
good you got 2 fo1 ribbon on that nice straw....
The finish on that felt real nice !!!!!!

I have to really agree as the hats are wonderful. I am partial to the contrast of lighter ribbon on the Optimo straw hat, you will love it when the summer hits, that hat has to be cool as a cucumber!

She is a real beauty!!! She is wearing my favorite hat also!

Hey gang, I hope this is the right place for this. I got my granddaughter her first fedora as a Christmas gift, and, if I may say so, I think she rocks a stingy!

Thanks Bert, nice of you to say! That hat is a beauty to, old Knox from the 50's, my wife and daughter were shocked when they realized it was a fine fur felt. NO wool for my babydoll!

I couldn't resist grabbing one of the Biltmore Open Roads and it arrived today.

Seems to be a pretty good hat for the money.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Mens-STETSON-FUR-FELT-Sikeston-Black-Formal-Fedora-Teardrop-Crown-Soleil-/180942035618?pt=US_Hats&var=&hash=item6fcd2153ae

So this is my first "new" quality hat. Stetson Sikeston--New old stock I believe. The sweatband is a "comfort" fabric, not leather, and there is no clear plastic liner-protector, so I'm guessing this was in the lower range of the fur felt -- but o my, it sure is purty. Haven't even worn it yet, wan't to make sure it won't be rained or snowed on!

So what I wanted to know -- anyone know anything about this line of hat? I paid $149, good price do you think? General comments?

Oh also, I hope this is OK with the mods, but if anyone is interested I've got a nice charcoal-grey Borsalino up on Ebay, looks very nice, very good condition, but is size 6 US (labeled 4) so is kind of small. I picked it up elsewhere pretty cheap, and thought I might be able to make just a bit on it. What do you think it might be worth?

Thanks for all --

Nice Dave. I have one in Caribou, Silverbelly and waiting on a Fawn. Black is the only one I didn't get. I think you will enjoy yours.

Thanks, Hatto. It was seeing the pics you posted of your Silverbelly that made me realize this was a nice hat.

Great lid!

Cheers, Tom! For a modern product hat, the Biltmore is really well put together.

Very nice David...I have enjoyed my black Biltmore Open Road.
Not too crazy about the brim flange. Mine kicks up in the back wayyyy to much for me.
As of noe I have it down all around.

Yes, it is rather kicked up in the back - more like a Stratoliner than an Open Road, I'd say. I don't think I have a problem with it and the brim does swoop down at the front quite nicely.

Please excuse the indoor shot, It does not justify the fine qualities of this hat.
