You’ll never get glue to hold a riveted button. Better to simply replace it. Maybe replace them all. It’s a very simple process. Literally could do the whole jacket in a matter of minutes.Ah a fellow jacket collector.
I really do like that one in the fifth photograph-It looks like it could be an RRL?
Though I haven't seen that particular one before..
Really very nice.
Someone on another Roughout thread posted a photo of the "Roughout Rancher" by Rugged West, which is a 'cheaper' type 3 trucker..I ordered one & it arrived yesterday - one of the poor quality buttons promptly fell off the cuff..snaps would of been better..I'll head over there in a minute & mention that so that anyone considering buying one is aware.
The lady there,Leilah, was very helpful & friendly though & she amended my order to a larger size just as it was about to ship.
I might try & use super glue & baking soda to glue the button heads better into the 'stalks' (Will have to research the correct term).
Unfortunately the site won’t load my images for me but I can tell you the brands in no particular order, Schott, tregos, buckboard, JCPenney, Regius (the two tone orange and black), Quintal, and a couple no label. They all look amazing.could you please share the names of those @ton312 ?

Hi,yes I was referring to the short trucker in the fifth photograph ..I did look on Vanson's site but I didn't see anything like that there..Was that question directed to me? The fifth photo is a Vanson Cheyenne. Got it from @Al 916
Hi,yeah that did occur to me,a little belatedly it must be said..You’ll never get glue to hold a riveted button. Better to simply replace it. Maybe replace them all. It’s a very simple process. Literally could do the whole jacket in a matter of minutes.

I like short trucker jackets, not long ones.
I did a search & saw the Vanson Maverick, but the Cheyenne is way nicer..& pretty rare too..at least here in the UK
Indeed, they also drape really nicely. Unlike most other steer jackets I've ever tried. My navy one is my favorite jacket of all time.Awesome jacket, very heavyweight looking..
It reminds me a bit if this Drakes Chore Jacket I just saw earlier on their site
Which new pattern Y2 Chore Coat are you talking about? I have a deposit down on a persimmon-dyed horsehide Chore, but haven't heard of a new pattern... might have to get my wallet out even earlier!Yes, it is pretty awesome. I do also like the earlier iteration in unfinished natural horse. I don’t buy into the hype with the waxed canvas versions, although I am sure it’s a perfectly fine jacket. The new leather ones in goat are not for me. I’d rather try to bribe TJ from The Shop Vancouver into giving me a slot for the new pattern Y2 Chore Coat…
I don’t mind the occasional fibre flying around. It’s gotten better (as one would expect), so I a, just going to wait it out (Other words for too lazy to proactively going the brush route).

Oh I remember that one. It came around 3500 CAD before tax - a steep price! Looks awesome though, and you’re right.. it is more of a field jacket.Yes, I have the persimmon dyed one as well. Great jacket.!
The Shop did offer ten or so slots to pre-order a new brown-red OD coat in a new pattern a while ago.
The pattern is more fitted but has shoulder gussets to compensate that. Also a zipper/snap button closure instead of the donut-push thru buttons.
The new version foregoes some classic Work Jacket feasting in favour of functionality, IMO. The new coat is more of a “Field Jacket”, if that makes any sense.
Certainly an attractive piece, if one can ever get their hands on it (and afford the price…).
I like the design. I think the Ralph Lauren design team had a good look at one of those Eskimo Comfort jackets.Anyone have the Rrl Alston roughout jacket ? Thoughts on it ?
I’m back and forth on it
