And I found a name for the invention M(onty)S Windows.[huh]
at least the inventors revenues are closer to LINUX...yet;)

MontyS Windows:

Both hats from Panamabob counted by this M(ontecristi)S Windows gimmick...he stands tall: the 1700 wpi hat had some places over 1700 wpi.

The other hat he delivered and estimated as 1300+ wpi had 1400 and upwards.

TY, what is the result...please let us know.

Three more posted to YouTube yesterday. Forgive me if they are repeats, but they are excellent.

You've got to love it when Simon Espinal, the best weaver in the world, is quoted as saying he wishes he could keep one of his own hats, but sadly wouldn't have enough to live on if he did. Remember, his hats go for at least $8,000 and up to $25,000 each and can EXCLUSIVELY be found via google with the following key words: Black Panama Espinal Simon Brent

Now, I'll get 10-15 emails telling me not to go all sour grapes and to respect a good businessman. Merry Christmas to you, too!

Makes me rage:rage: :rage: :rage: :rage:

Thanks for the videos, Bob

Dear Bob,

It is not about your sour grapes and not your disrespect of good business.

I can only give a Hungarian example of an artist who started approx. from Simon‚Äôs living standards and became one of the greatest painters in the 19th century, Mih?°ly Munk?°csy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mihály_Munkácsy.
Yes he started his career as a talented but very poor apprentice but once he got famous: http://hungart.euroweb.hu/english/m/munkacsy/muvek/index.html and got the 10 years exclusive contract with Mr. Charles Sedelmeyer, he got rich – as he deserved, he had a palace in Paris and many tycoon clients. That gallerist could not cure his syphilis – and could not cure his consequent depressions but they did fair business.

Yes, art critics say his sujet has changed a great deal after he got rich - but the museum quality of his artwork did not. He did not abandon his win-win contract either.

Maybe times got different since the 19th century and this might sound old-fashioned – I hope these links besides being a Christmas gift to ALL are going to be think starters.

Mr. Brent Black, yes I respect your service for the last 20+ years -"It is the time you have spent with your rose that makes your rose so important"- positioning the brandname Montecristi finos, making one weaver -Simon Espinal- world famous, this is great marketing. Yes we all respect the quality of your hats and I also like very much the photography on your site- please appreciate the greatest toquilla weaver alive - his talent is exclusively 'yours' - so is the man and his family-"You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed" .

Merry Christmas.

Tom

I know this post has been childish - I get often this criticism in real life. I am glad to have found a seller who is not 'grown up' either - he did not turn into a 'businessman'.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Prince

This number of viewings made me think of Cologne (Köln).

I have found there a custom hatter: http://www.hut-classic.com/H%FCte.htm

Herr Eifler seems to work also with Panama hats: the magic keyword Pananamahut is mentioned on his site.

Cologne makes me think also of another idea: is there any men's fragnance created about Panama hats? So many artists did wear them.

Just to round up all the five senses you know.

Just an idea - a valuable one adventurer masculine notes w. tobacco etc flavours would be cool - never saw that one realized. Just companies (Borsalino) that trade both: fragrances and panama hats.

Me giving free tips to people again:mad:

The productline should have the known names associated with the Panama hats: Montecristi, Cuenca, Optimo, toquilla, vuelta, etc.

Time for inventing a timeless classic in cosmetics.

Happy New Year

Indy,

Ralph Lauren Polo - yes my favourite one. But that is about the association to Polo.

The Panama hat fragrance should be another classic with similar class. And it could raise the awareness maybe to position Montecristi in the collective counsciousness again-better than any media campaign.

So the inventors only condition: do a little explaining about genuine Montecristi finos, Cuencas, Made in Ecuador and those things on the packing of the product.

I was inspired by the perfumes of my PHM Montecristi finos - when I opened the box: the straw, some tropical aire, mystery, intelligence, adventurism, vagabondo refinement - it could be a good start.

Any 'le nez' around here?

I have found this whole thread interesting since my wife is from Ecuador - born and raised - and migrated to the US at the age of 17. We visited her family last year in Guayaquil.

When I lived in Guayaquil there were piles of garbage in the streets. Now Jaime Nebot, the mayor (really much more powerful than our sense of mayor), has it looking very, very beautiful. Carajo!

That was my first trip to Guayaquil so my initial instinct was to judge it against the "typical" American city. My wife kept commenting about how much it had changed and for the better. Her father, who still lives there, talked about how much improvement there had been. We were there for three weeks so I got to see a lot of the city as well as venture out of it. I went to El Malecon by the water and toured the Barrio "Las Penas" which they were in the process of renovating the entire neighborhood. We also went to Manta and Salinas. Hopefully we can go back soon. I enjoyed my time there.
